I love this new format of you in front of the camera and talking.... please keep doing your videos this way... we all need a calm sea to focus on during these crazy times we live in today.... Cheers
Only problem I've had after making and wearing this very nice bracelet, is fishing buddies at my marina hounding me to make each of them one. Very nice, and thank you Mikko!
Wonderful to see your face and hear your voice. And a lovely bracelet. I like the Carrick bend but never found much use for it. This is great. Thank you.
Piccolo paradiso delle corde e dei nodi casa tua...! Semplice, ma bella idea di braccialetto Mikko, innovativo e geniale come sempre..., bravo...!⚓🚩⚓(...dall'Italia...👋👋)
anyone who has made this, what sized clasp did you use? I see 20, 23 & 26 mm etc. which size is preferable? Mikko-I’ve always enjoyed the non-verbal aspects of you videos, I like this side of you as well. I’ve not done much lately, but this project I have to try. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and skills. Donald
Finally! I always struggled to memorize the so called "2 strandet Diamond knot". Now that I learned the carrick Band, It's Not even an independent knot anymore.🤣 Thank you! I can Not memorize knots unless I understood them. An I always felt ashamed Not knowing that stupid Diamond. The carrick bend is extremely valuable for understanding knots I guess. To me it feels like I found the missing link. I always loved the cross knot. It feels like "the father" of all easy and usefull knots. Now I know "the mother". Maybe that Sounds stupid, but something tells me that you unterstand what I mean.
Excellent video. Thank you so much! As much as I loved the bracelet, I thought the shirt and belt were fantastic. I think I saw a video for the belt, do you have one for the shirt? Thanks again.
Fantastic idea. Now I can see you doing it from single strand. I like your flax hand sewn shirt , did you have a pattern? Greetings from Melbourne Australia
@@mikkosnellman I read a long time ago an old shellback swallowed the anchor, but he would still go to see the big sailing ship come into port. He would ask the bosun of the sailing ship for a fathom of his No.1 storm canvas to sew himself a new outfit.
Neat rope work. Your little stool had an area on the left where it looked like you poke holes in the same spot or stick something (knife? needle?punch?). Just wondering what you do there. I like the center hole on the seat it must be useful. Great video!
I use the stool often at ropewalk to guide yarn from the roll through the hole. I stick knife after cutting in the same place. The stool also doubles as marudai. 😁
@@mikkosnellman yes I spent a lot of time with this old timer. It wass more interesting to drink my café laituri coffee and joke with him. He was a very hard worker all his life. I used to help him as best I could. Regards to your wife. I hope you're well and safe.
@@mikkosnellman thank you very much and thank you for the tutorials. I’m sorry I’m just now finding them. Have you ever thought about telling or reading stories of the sea, you have a voice made for it. Thanks again
