Well, you've officially been blooded. Welcome to the pain and anguish society of Aziraphale and Crowley's unfinished love story. I'm still gutted over this finale. I'm so upset with Azi right now. He's going to owe Crowley the mother of the "you were right" dance. I enjoyed your reaction to this whole show. Now we hope and pray for season 3.
omg your comment about the dance is SO funny 🤣 but so valid- fingers crossed for season 3! I'm still not recovered from this episode if I'm being honest! 🩶
I've been heartbroken once or twice in my life, but the ending of this episode left me the most heartbroken ever. It's been almost three weeks since I finished watching this show, but I'm still at the bookshop, unable to move on. My favorite episodes are 2 and 4 , mostly because of Job and the 1941 flashbacks. I love every bits of their 1941 stories.
It just dawned on me that The Metatron is wearing dark colors. Angels don't wear dark clothes. Does it mean that God (because The Metatron is the voice of God) is not "good", but all things good and evil? That The Metatron is "not good" independently of God? Or, considering how bright and shiny white Muriel is, and that the archangels who aren't nearly as innocent as Muriel wear grey, and the demons wear black, that the darkening of the clothes represents how worldly and conniving they are? Muriel, being a completely naïve and clean soul is glowing white, Azirophale wears slightly less glowing pale clothes, yet is still innocent and striving to be good, the archangels are not nice, they are not kind, yet still try to do God's will, so they wear pale greys. The Metatron's coat is charcoal gray at best, if not black, and he may be the most conniving of the lot of them. I think The Metatron's dark coat is a warning that he shouldn't be trusted.
oooooh! what a great point!! I never really paid much attention to that at all- but man!! I feel like you're so right about the intentions behind that choice!! 🩶
ahhh episode 3 is my favorite as well! hoping and praying for a season 3, however, there is comfort in knowing that we will hopefully get a conclusion in some way! 🩶
To alleviate the pain somewhat, may I suggest you watch David and Michael in "Staged", which is what a lot of viewers seem to be doing now that whole episodes of all three seasons have been made available. I think you will enjoy them, and it will definitely lighten the mood!
@@youraveragewarlock923 also spoiler warning I can't believe they made the staged s3 ending match the GO s2 ending. THEY DID THAT TO MESS WITH US I SWEAR. THE AUDACITY 🤣🤣
Episode 4 was my fave! 1941 was my fave flashback back in season 1 partly cuz of fashion and partly cuz Aziraphale realises he's in love with Crowley in that scene, so to see we were returning to 1941 had me excited immediately! Then the episode went on to be even better than I expected as the whole plotline was so queer coded and set in the ✨️ t h e a t r e ✨️ and I just love that! 💕 (Plus we got more magic tricks)
Okay so yeah, this episode wrecked me. I mean, you remember the break down I had, because you had to deal with my texts through out the day, but it was insane. Here are some not so fun facts :D 1. Aziraphale asked for battery powered candles, because the fire was started by a candle and since then, he hasn't kept any candles in the bookshop 2 Gabriel was okay with falling because it meant he could be with Beelzebub 3. Apparently the line "I think I might have just started a war" was hard for Michael to get through because he had a suspicion (he was righ) that it would be in the trailer, and that made him nervous. Also, I reacted the same way when I saw Azi's halo xD 4. The ineffable bureaucracy was a ship that kinda started out after season 1, but most of the fandom never thought it would become cannon. Neil really had our backs on that one. Also the "bigger on the inside" line Beelzebub says to Gabriel is yet another refrence to our beloved Doctor Who 5. When Beel and Gabriel held hands for the first time on screen, Aziraphale grabbed Crowley's shoulder because obviously he was realizing that it WAS possible for a romantic relationship to happen between a demon and an angel, and that look still kills me to this day 6. Aziraphale never knew that Crowley was living out of his car, that's why Crowley tried to sleep as far from the bookshop as he could 7. I literally have no words for the every scene(nicknamed as such, because the amazon prime leak back in May or so, was of the kiss, and it was called every). Aside from all the theories I sent you, this season has still left me in shock. My favorite character is Crowley and favorite episode is 5. I can't wait for season 3. If amazon cancels it, at least we know Neil will write us a novel with the real ending. I'm going to miss these fun facts (again), but I'm very excited to see what's next.
Just a little bit on Ineffable Bureaucracy: Gaiman avoids fanfiction (although I suppose fan theories and shipping show up in his Tumblr asks from time to time). He has apparently said that he was watching the scene in season one towards the end where Beelzebub and Gabriel try to convince Adam to be a proper antichrist; Gaiman was struck by the dynamic between G and B (I think s lot of the shipping for this couple began from this scene also) and thought they'd make an interesting pairing. He then realized he could make that happen.
The Metratron asked Nina, "Does anyone ever choose death?" before he spoke to Aziraphale. I think he threatened him. Heaven or death. Maybe Crowleys death. Idk. But Aziraphale left the room with hearts in his eyes and then came back shocked and upset to here Crowley had feelings too. He should have been thrilled. Rewatching that scene I feel like Aziraphale is begging Crowley to read between the lines. "Here what I'm not saying. We have to go back to heaven now. We are in danger." But Crowley's too wrapped up in what he's trying to say, he misses it. Then Aziraphale's "I forgive you" becomes something like, "I forgive you for not picking up on this. For not understanding that I'm protecting us. I forgive you for letting this all fall apart..." The second Crowley breaks the kiss, Aziraphale's eyes go to the door. Metranon is right outside.
OHMYGOD, you're a genius, this is the only theory so far that I've been like 'this makes so much sense!' I was so confused about the 'I forgive you' initially because I didn't see it at all as him saying that regarding the kiss or whatever, I could feel it was referenced to something else, but again, this makes so much sense!! 🩶
@@ryannrodkey5669 A part of me wants to believe this theory but I'm not sure. I think a good bit of this really has to deal with Aziraphale coming to terms with Heaven and Hell not being completely good or completely bad and that his character just genuinely has a lot of growth to go through. The fact that Nina and Maggie talk about "waiting until she's ready" parallels with Crowley needing to wait until Aziraphale can come to his own conclusions. I do, however, think that the second the Metatron mentions the Second Coming things change for Aziraphale. Almost at once he realizes that he's made some sort of mistake and that there's trouble ahead and the look he shares with Crowley is one of wishing that he could /tell/ him what he knows but can't anymore. In the elevator he realizes that he's truly alone to face whatever conflict is ahead and this time Crowley won't be able to save him.
Given the writers strike and the fact season 3(to the publics knowing) hasn't been renewed it's hard to say. Neil(the creator) has already wrote the first episode and the last few pages of the final episode but because of the strike he can't continue. He said if they started filming in early 2024 we could have season 3 by 2026
@@ryannrodkey5669 As a human, I always appreciate how steadfast Aziraphale is in wanting to save us, and that he will give up (or postpone) anything he personally wants to make that happen. I do think Crowley's proposal (which is what it was) was so gorgeous and probably only a little different than what he'd planned when he thought it would be positively received. I mean, he expected to take Aziraphale out to breakfast after and he generally felt they would unambiguously be an "us." I think he might have still broken a little bit on "spend" but finished it up with "the rest of time/eternity/my life with you." I'm so glad he still went ahead and said what he had to say instead of "Never mind" or something. He took his shot, and it was really beautiful. I have to wonder what he would have said if he'd gone first, though. (Did I mention I was weirdly obsessed?)
Hey, I saw some comments pointing out the thumbnail issue already, but notice that you still haven't changed it yet. I've seen a couple of other reactors change their thumbnail after their video was uploaded and it was pointed out to them, so know it can be done. Thanks! Great reaction by the way. It's been fun watching along again with you. 🙂
hi! yes, there were a couple comments regarding the thumbnail! I was actually quite surprised as I didn't really think about it and there were no comments regarding the thumbnail over on patreon either so it didn't occur to me that it would be a problem as it's been out for over a month, I assumed I'd be safe at this point! I have changed it now- unfortunately, I was extremely busy yesterday and didn't have time to make a new thumbnail until this morning so hopefully everyone finds this one acceptable! 🩶
@ryannrodkey5669 Oh, I meant to point it out yesterday when I saw it on patreon, so you could change it before uploading it here. Unfortunately, I got distracted by something and then forgot about it. Oops! The best option is to just never use such a spoiler in your thumbnails, no matter how long it's been. People who have seen a show or movie already know what's coming, but there is then no chance of ruining it for anybody who's managed to stay spoiler free. Anyway, thank you so much for changing it. It's very much appreciated. I try not to get upset at people who post spoiler filled thumbnails as, like you said, people see others doing it and think it's OK. I just find it such a shame that spoiler etiquette has somewhat fallen by the wayside in recent years. I blame social media and the algorithms that have trained people to do whatever is needed for clicks and engagement. It seems to have started there and then spread. It never used to be like this before smart phones and social media become such a big part of society. Oh no, I'm starting to sound old, lol. 🥲
so sorry about this! I had seen quite a few Good Omens videos with this scene in the thumbnail and since it's been out for over a month, I believed it safe to use! I do apologize again! 🩶
@@ryannrodkey5669 I understand, it's just never a good idea. I didn't start watching Severance, for example, until over a year after it came out. I looked for reactions to the first episode and got completely spoiled for episode 7, just from the thumbnail. It's just, why do it when there are so many other options, y'know?
It’s been a month since I’ve seen it. I’m still fucked in the head. You’ll join us all in reading fanfic on AO3 and posting on tumblr. 🤷♀️ How will we cope?
No, I’m watching it! I’m watching it on my iMac so the screen is quite large so depending on what’s going on sometimes my eyes will roam around the screen! 🤣🩶
I'm actually not pausing the episode! the full uncut reaction is on Patreon, but in order for the episode to be able to be uploaded to YT, it has to be cut down with portions being taken out! 🩶
