Excellent tutorial. Thanks for posting. An old friend of mine from way back in grade school died this week of cancer and his wife asked me to play this at his funeral. Thanks to you, I should have no problem. Also we both played in cover bands together over the years. He was a great guitar player and I always played either bass or drums. I could always play “some” guitar but In that last 5 years I’ve really picked up ukulele. It’s so much easier!
You are very Classy, and you always make the laughies. First you taught us about the uke smell test then this looked like you were sampling the sheet music to see if that was to your taste as well😂 Great song, great tutorial. When you boxed off the syncopated section, totally help, yeah breaking it up into chunks was digestible. Thank you for your thoughtful teachings. Hope you have a great week 🙌😘🙏
Such an inspiring lesson. I will be playing it for a retirement at my workplace soon. The syncopated beat sounds cool, but I can't sing and do it at the same time. I have simplified it to the island strum with a chuck, and that encourages others to sing along. Thanks for sharing your gift of music!
Though the picking is not really hard to manage when practicing... I think it will be hard (for me) when playing the song. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. What I recognized is that for me it is much more difficult to follow along when you mention the name of the fingers used... it is easier to follow the rhythm. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks for this tutorial! This is a song that I can relate to. Some of the songs that you do tutorials for are songs that I'm not familiar with, but this song has been in my song memory for a long time. I'm going to have to add this one to my song list. :-) Also, that Cordoba ukulele is really good looking, and it sounds really good with the low G string.
Great to see you here! I’m so happy that you liked the song, and I think it’s a newer classic that’s going to last for a very long time. I hope you have a great day!
Amazing video. This ukulele looks just beautiful, it's the perfect size and it has a pretty design. And this fingerpicking pattern sounds like a lot of fun to learn. It sounds even great without singing, so it's definitely a good song for me :D :)
Awesome song. Teaching is awesome as well. But in the end, you give an awesome cover of the song! I always skip to hear your cover and how it sounds on the ukulele. This is what inspires me to go back and learn the song with the goal of playing it just as good. At least to try. Thanks alot.
Yay!!! New videeeoooo!!!! I loved it!! And ive seen you do hillsong videos before so i just wanted to request if you could do GOOD Grace by hillsong United!! Thanks!!
It’s crazy!!!!! I’m so floored that people want to watch. I’m just a mom from a small town that teaches music lessons, so this is just crazy to me. How are you? It’s good to see you here again.
Low G!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Plus a song in my vocal range. Still trying to get my boy pittie to sit still for the Batman finger picking vid. The girl will sit for it ,but her Wonder Woman costume doesn't register as such on film as the identifying logo is on the back and she refuses to wear the tiara.
OH MY GOSH!!!! This made my laugh out loud! I so love your sense of humor, and I'm glad that low G was something that you were looking for. I have a collab video coming out with Rock Class 101 in a few weeks that features the low G and all fingerpicking :).
I cant belive you liked my comment . Im already having a good day seeing that u liked my comment. You may not know how happy i am right now. Im so happy im in tears😭😭
you are saying middle, but its actually the pointer (at the very begining when you're showing the G chord finger picking patter, then second middle is actually a pointer).
Scrolled down all the way to find this comment just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy 😂 Yes, the pattern is TTMPTP not TTMPTM for all chords (not just the G).
Thank you Katie for these videos!! Your channel is such a help in stepping up my game! I have just one request. Could you Please do a tutorial video on Broken by Seether? It's a great song! Anyways, thanks again for taking the time to make these! That Uke is just beautiful by the way.
I love your videos so much! Extremely helpful and easy to follow ❤️ Could you please do a tutorial for ukulele, Put Your Head on my Shoulder by Paul Anka? Thank you, have a wonderful day!

Excellent tutorial. I'm a visual learner and did so much better just following what you do on the video.. I really don't understand how to read the picking patterns with the lines and the numbers (0,2,3), I tried to make sense of it but am clueless.. can you explain in the next tutorial?
Fantastic tutorial. I love the Ukulele. I'm going back and forth between getting that one or the Cordoba 21T-CE solid spruce top. I would love your opinion on the difference between the two.
Nice finger picking pattern on this song.........Sounds really good with these chords........It takes a little practice but it sounds nice......Good lesson, Katie!......This is a cool song...heard so much in various TV and Movies.....Now this.....:)......Oh, were you trying to make some bubble gum music there at the end?....How classy!...LOL....:)....."Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I got gum in my tummy".....Ok, I know, it's not exactly the right words...:)
I love this song. Thanks for another beautifully made tutorial. I know you but a lot of time into your videos. Just curious, did you change your mind about changing the name of your channel?
Thank you. I really appreciate your kind words and your support. I tried to change it and then it asked me to change an email account. It also just slipped through my fingers. I’ve been spending a lot of time offline, and it’s been good for me. I’ll get there someday.
I know you like Taylor Swift, so here's a tutorial for "Mean" that posted today. I hope you like it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t4onWgxgGaU.html
