The most important service of Yugo T-34s was to star in numerous war movies like Kelly's Heroes, Cross of Iron etc :)

As well as M4A3 Shermans in the Kelly's Heroes.

Yugoslav crew of a German gun mounted on an American tank that was supplied by the British, destroyed a Soviet tank manned by Germans in Italy. Can it get any weirder?

Zagreb was surrended to the partizans without fight. My grandfather was a partizan footsoldier. After they entered the city, they found civilians gathered in front of their homes which were destroyed or heavy damadged. So the entire partizan platoon shared with them their own food they were carrying in their bags and pockets, with the civilians. Also, the first ever T34/83 the partizans had, was captured from the Germans who captured it previously from the Soviets. Later they develeped their own version of the tank under the name "Vojno vozilo1" which remained only as a prototype vehicle.

Interesting video, Yugoslavia has an interesting AFV history, especially before Stalin's death and the thaw of relations between it and the USSR.

I'm actually doing a model kit of one of these Beutepanzers... A T34-76 marked 01 that was captured by partisans in Trieste, that tank survived, and is located in the barracks in Banja Luka.

What is the small self propelled gun smoking in the foreground at 07:50? Is it a Czech Škoda Š-I-j supplied to Yugoslavia pre-war?

It looks the right size and all the details match (Especially those distinctive MG port covers that only it had)

With the lack of any type of pitch, enthusiasm, etc. I feel like this commentary has been just one long never ending sentence, since the beginning.

Don't say Croatians say Ustaša because like this you are porteing that all of the nqtion where Ustaša wich is wrong and Croatians where a keen part of the Partizan movement
@PeoplecallmeLucifer
@PeoplecallmeLucifer Год назад
5:05 I mean it makes sense. Ustaše were a terrorist organization from before the war and were Fanatics. the regular army of the Independent state of Crpoatia were "Domobranstvo" (homeland defenders)

Can you stop using Cyrillic in writing latin letters , I genuinely feel offended xD "too ldte to tne pdyatch" is what I read also , reverse R isn't used in Serbian as we use 1 letter one sound system and Reverse R sounds like Ya while we have sounds and letters both for Y and A

It's a very infrequent and not at all subtle joke. I know it might look weird to our Slavic readers, but you have to take the jokes in stride, just like the rest of the world does when we make fun of them.

They walked the tightrope between resisting and collaborating in order to avoid civillian deaths
@milosvojinovic5710
@milosvojinovic5710 Год назад
Actually the main wing did resisting, until, almost the end of the war. They did the rescue of 500 Alied pilots, shot down by Germans, at the end of the war. They were loyal to the King (who was loyal to the British), until the moment when Churchill decided to play on the card of Partisas. Some fractions of Chetnicks composed of local residents in Dalmatia and Hercegovina, were fighting against Ustashas with the help of Italians. Germans stayed aside, not wanting to participate on anay side, until 1943,when Italy capitulated, they they joined, against Italians... It was bloody and brother killing war in Yugoslavia , so there were very strange combinations, depending of the region and part of the country.

@@TanksEncyclopediaYT would you make the same funny font for black/asian culture?
@TanksEncyclopediaYT
@TanksEncyclopediaYT Год назад
No, of course not, this is a Cyrillic-like font! We'd use an appropriate font for the culture :D
@MikeKnell2884
@MikeKnell2884 Год назад
@@TanksEncyclopediaYT Yeah, well, we tend to laugh at people who mix cyrillic and latin alphabet, as only really bad pupils would write like that. And using "cyrillic" letters to write a foreign, latin alphabet word is something simply not done here (meaning ex-Yugoslav states). Nobody here would find that funny. I guess it's a western thing.
