A batch of bad meat causes everyone but J.J. to get food poisoning!
From Season 3, Episode 11 'Florida's Protest': Florida decides to splurge on groceries and buy roast beef for dinner. While everyone enjoys the meal, the next day they have food poisoning. She talks to the store who refuses to listen, and so Florida decides to start a boycott.

Everyone thought JJ was the backbone of the show. His jokes got corny after he’d tell one every 3 minutes at a minimum. James was the power behind the show!

Lear really blew it by firing Amos. The show did last three years more, but it wasn’t that good.

Funny that JJ was the only one not to get sick, if he has a cast iron stomach. In a later episode I remember he had chili dogs and they did a number on him. Thelma said "I hope your chili dogs have puppies!"

I remember when James told the man working at the store where they bought the spoiled meat, "you better shape this store up and fast, because if you don't, they gonna find you stretched all the way from frozen foods to canned goods!"😠 😄

Later on, this they brought a plate of food to the store manager to eat, and it had some of the tainted roast on the plate.

l remember this happen with my family the same thing and end up getting sick. We ate a turkey and it was not good. l felt like crap like Thelma. it took me 3 days l.think. it was painful and l never ate a turkey since.

I remember the episode. She puts the roast into the oven and then THREE MINUTES LATER, she's taking it out and serving it to the family! A roast like that to be PROPERLY cooked NEEDS about a half an hour or so...🤨

I feel like JJ looks is one of the best lines in the history of good times. It's right up there with black pride Black beauty and the creature from the Black lagoon.
