A $6 dongle is basically equivalent to the dacs in lg smartphones. I saw someone who tested this they were basically on par with the dongle slightly ahead. That person was very reliable with tons of experience in audio gear.

I've always appreciated my LG G8X ThinQ All of the phones I've ever had was LG, and absolutely love my phone; I can play Terraria at 60 fps and never regretted it I was really looking forward to getting the V60,, 😔

Between the 5 cameras and the hifi quad DAC audio jack was the sole reason I chose the V40. I'm truly conflicted about getting a new phone, maybe I'll just keep my V40 for a music player only and get a Sony xperia

GET THE V60. I have it with the dual screen and it is BEAUTIFUL. Think of having a modern day V20 with a bigger second screen.

The velvets 3D sound engine is actually much better than I was expecting. Its not always great but some songs(especially older ones) come to LIFE in my car when I switch that on.

I HATED my Velvet. I think it may have been because it was the TMO version and the switch to the other processor. Went through 3 phones before finally saying BYE and went to a V60. I LOVE the V series and will absolutely miss them. G20 and the V series have been such great phones.

Agreed. I always tried to comment on the silly phone award videos by MKBHD or Supersaf, trying to ask why LG isn't even mentioned when they make the most well rounded phones on the market every year. These guys literally mention every unknown Chinese brand as "honorable mentions" and act like LG isn't even an option.. It's a dirty game

Yeah, MKBHD's video seemed fair. But I think Juan here makes a good point that we should be driving home the fact that PHONES ARE REAL COMPUTERS. And this is kind of a tangent, but I personally think those of us who are knowledgeable about technology need to help our friends and family out more and try to teach them how to use what they have and motivate them to be confident that they can learn to use things better even if they don't know everything right now.

Mkbhd has actually underplayed lg I remember when a commenter pointed it out that comment got shit ton of likes 😂😂 and he took it down I wish I took a screenshot of it 😂 and the next day when I commented asking what happened to that comment even mine was vanished and I don’t even remember which video it was now cause it all happened years back! I assume even that video is taken down now 😂😂

the truth is, although mkbhd vidoes doesnt do LG justice. most consumers dont watch reviewers. LG failed to put the phones into the hands of normal consumers. RU-vid phone reviewers really dont contribute or generate much sales or awareness. 21 million views on youtube really dont mean much in this world in contributing to the downfall of a tech giant like LG.

I am still concidering buying a G8s. Currently using a Note 10 ultra and missing the convenience of my V30 just lift to the ear to answer a call. The Note 10 chrashes. The LG was a solid performer with no flaws. Samsung just messed up my note after last update. LG never failed on me with updates since there never were many. If LG updated, it always worked flawless.

I use a G6 to this day for navigation outdoors. Very robust and relieble. The combination of cameras were the best at that time

Optimus, slider keyboard phone, xpower, stylo2, stylo 3, g6, 3 yes three different v20s, g7 fit, and I'll probably get an ebay fake v30

I had the G2,G3,G4 ( never experienced the bootloop)G5, was a hard pass, G6, ( still use it to surf the website and as a backup camera phone) G7, and my last LG phone ever is the G8. At least I will get a few more security updates and it does have Android 10 on it.

@@eapa37 This has been a problem with Xperia's for a while, which I believe is holding them back to be bit more mainstream. I'm afraid Sony might struggle again, though so far lately they have better direction this time with their Xperia focusing on content-creation smartphone by incorporating Sony Alpha camera's tech into their smartphone. The next thing maybe they can do is to incorporate more from their Walkman by putting equivalent or better DAC than LG. Release an official Sony controller accessory for gaming espeically for PS5 Remote Play. But I don't expect Sony to explore more experimental form factor or additional accessories like what LG does with LG Wing and their V-series with dual-screen case with actual pen support, the only OEM I know that have competition with Galaxy Note. And I'm afraid there have been rumors that Galaxy Note line might disappear and will then support pen but optional on their Galaxy S series.

Started with the g2 and the g2 was honestly the best. 2021 and I have the g5 and love the swappable batteries... RIP cuz I hate Samsung and iPhones. Ugh.

@@Jawnin Still there's always Sony. Taking FM Radio out of equation, they still keep the microSD card support and return the audio jack. Even ASUS has done the same with the audio jack for the ROG Phone 5.

Bought my LG V60 last year I still love it

My g6 just died after 4 years, just bought a v60 from Amazon for $415. Awesome specs for the price but didn't realize it was only 1080p until after I bought it. It'll be here tomorrow hope I like it.

Nothing proves your point better than the fact that Apple kills it at marketing than everyone else. Which is why Apple has been selling the same useless phone for over a decade (just by killer marketing), just using flashy terms like "Bionic" (how the heck is your chip "bionic") and "Liquid Retina" (for a 20 year old LCD screen technology), and people slash open their credit card to buy the "latest iPhone" year after year. The worst LG had more features than an iPhone. RIP!

I remember years ago telling a friend about how durable they seemed, to prove my point I chucked my v10 into the floor. Thing didn't even get a scratch, but the floor did dent.

Im quite clumsy so i drop my velvet at least once a day and even after 5 months theres still hardly a scratch on the glass or metal frame.

To be honest the mobile tech space is now full of content creators making imo paid adverts with pretty b-roll. I can barely take their reviews seriously anymore. People like Juan and flossy carter are the few keeping it real, while I dropped dudes like MKBHD for nonsense like LG being "the master of none" (even though it has the best wired audio by far)

You got a great point. After getting Samsung phones for many years I come to understand what you brought up it’s not all about the latest and greatest phones but more about you and what you like. It’s because if that that I’m getting my Dream phone the Oneplus 9 in winter mist purple I always wanted to own a Oneplus but was so use to using Samsung phones that it didn’t cross my mind until now. I have a good feeling I’m going to love my new phone.

I had an HTC 8X, I am still a little in love with that phone. But, my God, the apps. Why, MS?? Soooo much crap, so many half-assed web-based "apps". WP was oddly both ahead of and behind the curve.

Sorry but a phone pushing "innovation" should at least have a 90hz display in this day and age but sadly the v60 missed the boat with this one - it's still an amazing phone but lg should have done better. I have a Sony Xperia 5 II phone and whilst the auto camera isn't great (albeit manual mode is amazing), I love the 120hz display but I can no longer go back to a phone with 60 - when I did, it nearly made me feel sick 🤮

@@detroid89 That's your preference as a buyer but a reviewer shouldn't write of a phone based on it's own preference. A lots of people prefers a headphone jack over 120 herz display so for them it's a good buy.
