Having recently gone through a nasty divorce, this song hits me really hard. I have felt all of that. Listening to the words, I am reminded of everything I felt when she left. The anger, pain, and unfairness of it all. "No such thing as sacrifice and no means left to compromise." I don't thing I have the words to properly express just how deep this song hit me. Thank you, Caleb, for expressing what I couldn't in the most beautiful way I know.

Last month I was kicked out of my childhood home by my mom. It’s a long personal story of mental abuse and manipulation, so I won’t share it here. But this song speaks to me. I can relate to it’s lyrics. Like when I had to say goodbye to the life I once knew in order to break free and take back what was rightfully mine. My happiness, peace of mind, and freedom. Thankfully I was never alone and now live with my dad and stepmom. (Btw me and my mom are good now, but there’s no way I’d ever live with her again.) Life will throw curveballs at you when you least expect it. By no means will getting through the hard times be easy, but trust me when I say it is NOT impossible. I wish you all to have the strength to push through. ❤️

This is reallllly good Caleb. The last line made me want to tear up. "Goodbye anytime I felt alone." I think everyone can say they have felt alone at some point, but for some people the feeling lingers longer. For me personally, even though I have friends, family, and even a spouse, it still feels like I am alone in this world, and I hate that feeling. I still look forward to the day I can say, with confidence, that I am happy, and I will say goodbye to those moments I felt alone too

a beautiful start to a new year; the lyrics are stunning, the art is gorgeous, and when the beat kicked in at 0:43, i felt shivers run the full length of my spine. i started trauma therapy at the tail-end of 2021, and i've had to come face to face with a lot of things i tried to ignore. the "new year" thing is more societal than anything, but as i listen to this again and again, in a room of half-unpacked boxes miles away from the house i grew up in, i can't help but feel a sense of connection shining through the loneliness. maybe this year is one of finally moving forward and letting people in. thank you, caleb. this song is lovely. i can't wait to hear what more you've got in store for us

To me this feels like a song of someone who was cheated on and trying to live with that scar. At first its "im just ment to be alone" but ends with "am i really alone or just lonely?" I went through a breakup about two months after this song was released and the remaining five since then has been spent coping (both healthily and unhealthily). I finally decided to stop waiting and sticking it out for someone who clearly did not have me as their priority. I'm moving on and letting myself be happy for me. I've just woken up in the afternoon of january 1st after getting a positive covid test yesterday. Did everything as right as I could have within my own power, and I'm still sitting here in quarantine. For some reason, this made me cry in light of all of that. Thank you.

This song makes me fuckin sob everytime i come back to it this last few days. 2021 was one of the hardest years of my life. It was my first year in a brand new city without anyone I knew growing up. I suffered from chronic unemployment. I had many risks of homelessness. To me, this song represents a new beginning. It represents saying goodbye to what hurts and embracing what feeds love and creativity and life. Im listening to this while crying because I just got a new job after what felt like forever feeling stuck in an unemployment rut. You have no idea how much I needed this song this new year. This speaks a lot to the dejection and hopelessness I've felt over the years. Nothing quite like feeling worthless and unloved. Also the more common foibles of just bad days at work. But that final part at the end... Yeah, a strong and hopeful finish. The song does a great job of building this almost suffocating cloud of malaise, which the video does well to help with the contrast and rain effects. But at the end, a literal light at the end of the tunnel, just as the song begins to break up its dreariness with a hopeful uplift. This is a good song, and a good production. Thank you, everyone that were part of it, for sharing it with us.
