What is a passkey? Passkeys are hands-down the most secure type of identity technology available today. For years hackers have been able to easily steal passwords through malicious links or phishing emails. Passkeys take things to a whole new level. Passkeys use a private/public key pair to authenticate with the sites and services that you use, and they authenticate with existing PIN codes, FaceID, or TouchID. The private/public key pair can now be stored on mobile devices and computers.
Passkeys are designed to be easy to use, phishing proof, brute-force proof, and it does not matter if your public key gets leaked in a server hack - it's useless without the private key side which only ever lives on your devices. By mass-adopting passkey technology, we can help to put an end to the scammers and hackers who prey on folks with poor security hygiene.
In this video we’ll take you through everything you need to know about passkeys and exactly how they work with demos and explanations.
