It’s clear that Rocco went into this experience as a fan but also as a preservationist. We might not appreciate it yet, but we’re going to be happy we have this info in the future. Rocco using his archival nature for our benefit. A true mensch
Rocco I hope you read this because what I’m about to tell you is wild. I first met you at Disneyland 2016 when you were opening those mystery toys. That day I was cooking at Hungry Bear. I hurried out the kitchen and changed my costume to regular cloths and found you and the gang. That night was fun. Fast forward to the last day at the Starcruiser I saw you and the gang again but I had no idea you guys would be there. It is my honor to cook for you all and dance! I hope you liked the food I made for captains table and I hope you loved your experience.
Since it was asked, here's the Aurabesh translations: Jacket sleeve: Chandrila Star Line Mug: Chandrila Star Line Backpack: Correllian MPO 1400. Had to look it up and it's the Halcyon's model. I really hope some of this stuff makes it to ShopDisney and/or the parks. I'm a sucker for in-universe merch.
it's cool how the handle of the mug at 16:54 mimics the right side of the chandrilla logo! also the aurebesh on the jacket sleeve and the mug just says "chandrila star line" inside of the backpack at 18:36 says "Corellian MPO-1400" coaster at 23:41 says "beverages | music | food"
After listening to the creepy old crypt episode and the mega64 podcast about the Galactic Starcruiser experience it sounds a lot like what Evermore the theme park was trying to be, though it sounds like a lot more of an enjoyable experience than that park judging from the videos I've seen. The closest thing I've experience to it is Phantom Peak in the UK, but that is a one day experience and a little more casual than the all encompassing Starcruiser. Maybe it's just too ambitious an idea to do in the Galactic Starcruiser form. Great to hear all this documented and even see the merch since it's the only way most will be able to enjoy it especially now it's dead more or less.
I saw a tweet earlier that canonically, the Halcyon crashed on Jaaku and there were no survivors. Kind of a fitting end to the storyline now that its closing. 😬
This was cool. Looking forward to watching the creepy old crypt, and Mega64 podcast episode about your time there. What I really want is to hear all your thoughts about Tron Lightcycle /Run, and see every Tron thing you got cause I've seen the jacket, disc, helmet, and shirt but I wanna know the full haul for that.
The medallions are rare! There’s ones for specifically captains table, winning sector set, and I think winning the Sabacc tournament? They sell for a LOT on eBay. I never actually got one myself I had to be gifted by a friend who managed to get a ton
The people who run actual Mecca (and the guy who came up with that brillaint idea) have kept it going for centuries! Disney has to step up their game for Star Wars true believers
Re: "Star Liner," you might be thinking of the Amtrak Coast Starlight train, which runs from Los Angeles to Seattle. People often call it the Starliner to contrast it with the Surfliner, another Amtrak train that runs from San Luis Obispo to San Diego.
I think a lot of the merch will be sent to the cast member discount store in Florida and Anaheim. If you know a cast member, tell them to keep an eye out for you.
