This plugins does - close to perfection - all that bad issues we used to avoid back in the 60's and 70's... quite realistic indeed. But... for me it remembers some past nightmares...hahhahahahahhaaa
“We made a vibrato/chorus” $10 Producers: nope “We perfectly modelled the legendary studio THVD-2748 analog tube rackmount point-to-point blah blah” $499 Producers: THROWS HUGE HANDFULS OF CASH ($129 is stupid)
Seems to work well and as advertised except the price point is insane thats way too expensive imo for a lofi plugin when there are a ton of free ones that work great too at basically making your audio sound worse lol.
There's a few tutorial videos on youtube, from producers who I think should know better, promoting the idea that you can create a balanced mix using pink noise (ie. using pink noise, and soloing each track in turn and adjusting gain until it can just be heard above the pink noise). Lots of commenters saying this is great, and others saying they use this method as a starting point for their mixes. I think you would do a great job at debunking this, or perhaps otherwise.
I love all Goodhertz plugins, simple, minimal and great sounding, could u review the Ruby EQ from Acustica Audio? shits hella expensive and i wonder why tbh
Hi this is more special FX than anything. Can u do something like their compressor or there “Can Openers” please? Really interested of a pro mixer would find their can opener plugin useful.
At 3:58 where you fiddle with the color slider I didn't hear a difference. I Could be wrong but it seems to me that the on/off button above the slider is turned off. Great video!
Goodhertz is so legit. Loved this one. And their can opener was a game changer for my headphone monitoring (way better than Waves NX, which tries too hard).
the capstan motor it a part of the fly wheel it's worn capstan rubber on the capstan wheel that causes that get a reel to reel and experiment it sounds better than plugins and having a good running reel to reel you can use it for echo or just pich the tape when its playing for this effect lol.
hi I really appreciate your honest reviews. What's your opinion on the Goodhertz Canopener Studio? Since the covid I had to move my entire mixing at home with headphones and I'm trying to find some tools to help me in the process. Thanks and stay safe
Would be great for video sound design and editing, when the cassette pops in to the deck on a beat up car, a perfect studio sound would be distracting.
For a new real tape vs tape plugins comparison please don’t forget the upgraded Toneboosters Reelbus v4. A lot happens to it from v3. Thanks and greets
You should re "mix" my Project Struck I sent you , one last time . You seem much more knowledgeable now a days . And would LOVE to see what you could do .
Haha yeah, I can see BoC in this. Could of course also be achieved e.g. via modulation of vst instrument parameters (I'm having Bitwig modulators in mind). Indeed pricey, but a well executed and focussed toolbox.
