Can you have a Hot-Tub without running water electricity? We are building the ultimate off-grid recreation property and in this video we are setting up and using our off grid Goodland hot tub for the first time!
We got a Goodland Wood Burning hot tub and set it up at our off-grid property in the winter. We have no running water or electricity here. We drilled a hole in the ice and pumped water out of the frozen lake into the hot tub and then started the fire for the first time. The experience of chopping wood, and starting the fire was therapeutic for sure. What's even more therapeutic is getting to enjoy the hot tub once it's ready. It smells like cedar with the faint crackling of fire, it really feels like a nordic spa experience.
We also cut a hole in the ice for a cold plunge. This is the ultimate hot-cold therapy and it's totally off grid.

Hey I just bought the same hot tub ….. and plan to use it at our cottage in the wintertime…. How long did it take to fill up ?

Amazing! It takes me about 40 minutes with 70ft hose and a 1/2 HP pump from the lake. It would be quicker with a more powerful pump or a shorter distance of hose. A gas pump could likely fill it in 5-10 minutes for example.

Also ….. have you left heated water in the hot tub over night in the winter to reuse it the next day ….. does it freeze? With the cover on

I have done that a few times and it kept the heat well. No freezing over one night in minus temps. I haven’t tested a few nights because we use it so much ha. I think one night is safe for sure but you’d want to check on it after a couple nights. If you have access to electricity a stock tank heater or bubbler would eliminate this risk.
