nice job on that tone ! it takes a lot of man hours to dial in a tone on these axe2 units , there are sooo many perimiters to adj. and many many variables to consider. kudos to you
Thanks Gurtej. I couldn't get that sound in a million years. Nice job. I've never learnt that solo. I think it's my new challenge. Now I got the sound. Thanks again
I've been wanting to cover this solo from many years to be honest. I wish we had a backing track from DT for this song, but I decided to make my own which took even more time haha. I'm glad you like the tone! Good luck!
Great man 👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏼 Thanks for taking the time to breakdown this beautiful tone! And you’re right btw about the Reverb subject, JP doesn’t use reverb the normal way! He actually use it only on his solos right after the delay block and Only for the Delay ! That’s why you were able to Hear it much clearer on Goodnight kiss solo since it was really standing out in the mix while the rest were sort of were not loud!
Thank you, Bro, this sound's Great I have been learning a lot from you I just got a Axe fx 2 with controller given to me it's very nice new tool for me in the studio and your help has been greatly appreciated
Can I make a suggestion? This is titled for use with the Axe2 but as you know I just follow along and apply it to my Axe3 and it sounds great. Add to the title "applies to FM3 FM9 & Axe-FX3 also". Cover them all to capitalize on the entire Fractal Audio line, more views & more subs. Keep it up I love the content & presentation.
That's a great suggestion, in fact I have thought about it a lot too! I think I will go ahead and add those things too, because you are correct, pretty much every unit after the Axe FX has been incremental so it should also have the things we have on the II. Sometimes people also expect the preset to work right out of the box on the other units, and want to spend very less time on the video, even though I encourage folks to check out why I chose certain values. In those cases, things become a bit tricky because now the FracTool needs to be involved as well. But, I really like your suggestion, and will go ahead and try to incorporate it in! Thanks a lot!
I'm going to check those 2 out, the Dynamic Presence & Out Comp. I too just use a little kiss (pun) of chorus on my presets, being an 80's kid Chorus in my genetics.
Thank you so much! The playing comes with a lot of practice and I still have a long way to go, but thank for acknowledging the effort it takes! Appreciate it a lot!
Hey man you really should check out the Matchless DC-30 in the axe I just discovered it recently and man it's an absolute beast with a strat !maybe make a video too Haha
Great video.. The things i ll never understood is where petrucci put the chorus in the chain.. In the rig run down he has the boss dimension c in the front as a pedal..but he also got it in the axe.. Where for the clean? Where for the crunch?
Good question! I think it's more track and tone basis rather than any formula that he follows. I've seen it insert it in the front of the amp for even distorted tones and sometimes even after. It does have an interesting effect before the amp though.
hello master, can you tell me how you connected your guitar to the computer. What peripherals are you using? What brands would you recommend? Thank you very much in advance for your information....
Hey man, you can check out all about my gear in this video here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XenicnmVxkI.html. hope this will help! Cheers
