A couple of points: The % charged is a "guess" that it keeps updating. When you first put a battery in it has no idea what the charge it and it keeps measuring the voltage change over time to give a better idea of the actual charge level. It's like driving your car to the supermarket and basing how far you can drive on a full tank based on your mpg for that short trip. You're not going to get an accurate number right away. That battery was likely fine. You can discharge batteries and get the capacity in mah hours. Steps: Put the battery in slot 4. Press down both slot and mode at the same time until the mah flashes. Then release both buttons. Tap the mode button once. You'll see 3 icons appear. They flash from right to left depending on what mode it is in. The right most icon means it's charging the battery up. When that phase is done the middle one starts flashing and that tells you it's discharging the battery. When that phase is done it charges it up again. Normally in charge mode you'll see the mah delivered at the end of the charge. In this mode you'll see the mah taken out of the battery in step 2. The only weird thing is the icons are reversed on the display. The rightmost charging icon is pointing down instead of up. The middle discharge icon is pointing up instead of down. The left charging again icon is once again pointing in the wrong direction - down. When it's in the middle discharge mode (you'll have to pay attention) you can hold the mode button down to change the discharge rate. If you leave it at a high discharge rate on a tiny battery (AAA) you're not going to get a realistic capacity measurement because you're going to be discharging the battery (and basing its capacity) based on data from a much higher discharge rate than a AAA would be used in reality. Try a low setting like 0.1A on a AAA for example and a reasonable discharge rate based on the anticipated load of whatever battery you are testing. If you are a vaper and murder your batteries with high current draw this will probably discharge them far more gently than you will use them in reality.

Old C4 versions (with silver logo) have detailed batterie graphics and now, it's just a lightning :( I really prefer old ones

You really should learn all the functions before you review the c4. Slot 4 does have a discharge/ repair function. Also current can be selected by long press the mode key until the amp menue flashes ( 0.00a or 0. Whatever auto mode was in before activating the charge current selection

When you first plug in the power, you can see the display shows the triple arrows used to indicate the discharge facility are still built into the display (bottom right), so it seems like they have at some point intended that facility in this model, but as far as I can tell there is no way to activate it, if it's there at all.

I like that it's uses the direct connection cord (the figure 8 plug in thing) verses, what most the cheaper charges use, which is the USB adapter cord (you know, the computer type of electric cord). I always assume the direct connector (the c7 figure 8 plug-in thing, I don't know how to describe this stuff so you understand what I'm asking) is better. Like I'd assume it would more reliability provide a stronger electricity output and/or last longer. Does anyone know this information? Is the direct connection better than the USB plug-in connection? I can't find any information about this via Google search. It can't figure out what I'm asking but it's a pretty simple question. TY

Lidls done a good battery charger the tronic universal TLG 1000 C5 THIS done all the various sizes and looks after you're batteries before charging starts also with a percentage display and full cut out once charging completed it also had a usb for charging I use mine to charge my retevis radio's made in Germany.It is a four slot spring loaded set up as well I was so impressed with these I purchased 3 units with refresh.precharge.battery defect.and fully charged high luminosity leds will charge 6 batteries also two slots for 9 volt batteries.

This model doesnt have temperature sensor so there a real risk that it will overheat the batteries... it happened to me. I could not touch the battery when I notice it.

This charger are not rly good... i order it and the first one comes with scratches in the display.... they Send me a another one.... and the second one have more scratches then the first one 😡
