The parking lot was full and they were quite busy, but they begas to stock the shelves soon after I walked in the treasures began to flow into my cart! I was so happy to learn about mineral oil from your channel as I had recently rescued a couple of monkey pod servers. The larger piece has 3 compartments, the smaller is a single, leaf shaped dish that looks beautiful next to the larger piece 9n my coffee table. My husband bought the Howard's food grade brand mineral oil and conditioner at Home Depot for $10.00 per 12oz bottle. It worked beautifully. A few days later I found a 16oz bottle of plain mineral oil in the health and beauty aisle at Walmart for under $3.00!! It 8s the Equate brand; it's very thick. It does not say 'food grade' but as it's marketed as a mild laxative it must be safe. I've used it in a very old wood Singer sewing machine cabinet and on a beautiful but very dried out wooden plant stand. They both look great! Next I'm going to tackle my 100+ year old Hoosier cabinet that I purchased 45 years ago. And of course, the cutting boards were done first! I'm so happy to know about this non toxic way to preserve wood as I inherited a couple of hand-made bowls from my husband's aunt. Thank you so much. Happy Thrifting

The glass container you are holding at 11:21 is actually a sugar bowl missing its lid. I used to have that same set many years ago. If I remember correctly, it came with a matching cream pitcher and butter dish with lid.

I am an avid armchair thrifter and follow a number of thrifters on RU-vid. We don't have these type of stores in South Africa. My taste is not necessarily the same as yours but I love that you scan the entire shelf allowing me to treasure hunt with you, mostly though, I love that you are considerate and treat all items with such respect, not something I can say for many of your fellow thifters. Tiffany I use a blow dryer on watermarks. Works just as well as a iron and press cloth but allows you to see exactly what you’re doing. No worries of further damage.

Can use regular mineral oil from a dollar store. As a RN, we had doctors prescribe a tablespoon every night to help with constipation in elderly.

What is the little light you shine on glass items and what does it show and mean?

Hi Jane! I use my little black light (ultraviolet light) to find vintage glass that contains compounds such as uranium oxide or manganese oxide. These compounds cause the glass to glow under ultraviolet light. Glass including "Uranium" and "Vaseline" glass is popular in todays market and collectors display their collections in cabinets lit up with an ultraviolet light source so that they "glow".
