My goodwill store doesn't have anything for less than $3.99 and I'm in TN. Really crazy the way the prices run.

They don't even pay their employees well. Hopefully, that has changed. There is no "good will" at Goodwill anymore. Hasn't been for a long time.

Great haul!!! Always remember "Wood is Good"!!! My local Goodwill has outrageously high prices, so I shop a lot at the Salvation Army Thrift Store!!! 👍 💚 💛 💚

Hi Jamie!! Ya know my mother used to take me when I was six years old to Goodwill. I’ve always shopped at thrift stores. And I am so glad I grew up with appreciation for them. After all it’s true, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” I absolutely love the green vase!! So pretty. And green is my favorite color. And the orb. Love that too! You scored some great treasures. The glass items is super nice as well. So versatile. And those types of finds are so good. Okay, catch ya next time! ❤️💜💚

I love thrift shopping. The problem is my Goodwill would sell that clear candle dish for $4.99. I often wonder where they get their pricing from? Loved your haul. Keep safe and healthy 🙏❤️

Same, my goodwill has really started marking their prices up a lot. I think it’s at the mercy of the employees at what price the items are marked.

Mine too!!! I have found items with original tags still on them and Goodwill here actually MARKED THE ITEMS UP a couple of dollars (or more!!!). They are CRAZY here 😡💔 Edit: for instance. I found a cute little basket that had the original Dollar General tag on it for $5...the Goodwill tag said $7.99. I thought "this MUST be a mistake". So I took it to the manager who said it was RIGHT...and REFUSED to even go down to the $5. Her logic was that "it had just come in, so she could NOT discount it"...when I grumbled she said, and I quote: "if you can't afford it, then don't buy it!" WHAAAATTTT???? I just don't get it. (This is the Kansas City, MO area).

I have no idea how they price things. The prices at my Goodwill have been ridiculous for years. I never go anymore because I could order exactly what I want for a few bucks more. I stick to garage sales and the Dollar Tree. :) The town over though, they have so much craft supplies for a least reasonable prices. They have an older population, so I can see why there's more good stuff. I'm guessing part of the problem with the prices is resellers and out-of-town money that comes in that jacks up the prices.

You can mix baking soda with acrylic or latex paint. I use calcium carbonate it makes chalk paint. Love those finds Jamie

We have a “hospice” thrift store. I love it. I got an old fashioned roll top desk for $7.50!!! I can’t wait to see for of your thrift hauls!!!

We used to have a wonderful Goodwill but recently the shelves are sparse and the prices have been raised. Hopefully that will change. You found some great things. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, Jamie & Otis. 👋🏻 Loved this haul and how you used them. My Dad, who is 80 doesn’t craft, but he goes to Goodwill EVERY day (sometimes twice per day). It is part of his daily “rounds”. He says it’s the only store that has something different every time you go in. 😊

The green vase could be hung up for painting by putting a balloon inside and then blowing it up. Tie a string to the balloon to hang it. Makes spray painting much easier.

That homegoods candle holder is such a great find. I thought of sand and a candle for tye summer the rocks and succulents is also a great idea. The options are endless with such a great piece.

Those were great finds and the diys from them were great. Unfortunately, I live in an area where nothing great ever makes it to the floor. They are raising prices to full retail and most of the stuff is. Dirty junk.

I live in Las Vegas Nevada hitting any kind of a thrift store on the weekend is a no parking situation the stores are overcrowded and the findings are very slim whereas when I was living in Michigan they had the best thrift stores I have ever come across

In6of mineral oil you should invest in something called "board butter" especially if you might put food on it. It nourishes the wood and brings out the natural luster without looking oily.
