I think that is white glass (its hard to tell in a video).To tell the difference between the two; hold the piece up to the light or sunshine and if the edges are slightly transparent and you can see shades of red and yellow its milk glass. Its called looking for the fire. If the edges of the piece is opaque and you cannot see light, it is white glass.

That applies to older milk glass only. "Newer" 1960s or newer Westmoreland or Fenton milk glass does not have the "fire". It is completely opaque. Still very much milk glass. All white glass is milk glass. I was once a HUGE collector.

I bring all my emerald green and ruby red glass out for Christmas. It all goes on display the day after Thanksgiving through the first week of January! I started to collect so many pieces that didn't "match" my normal home decor colors I decided to keep the traditional green, red and gold Christmas colors every christmas and bring all my favorite emerald and ruby glass out then. And I get so excited every year when I unpack it 😁

The white piece of glass is white milk glass from the 1950s. I think the pattern is called Vintage due to the grapes and made by Westmoreland Glass. Milk glass is opaque and can be different colors. Blue milk glass is another common color. This newer milk glass was very popular in the 1950s thru 70s. Earlier milk glass ( 1880s-1920 or so) may have fire but may not. Do a search on westmoreland and you can see examples. I've been collecting antique and vintage milk glass for 30 years.

On the bottom there is a W in a circle. Westmoreland. I think the 50s or 60’s and a collectible if you call milk glass collectible. I have that piece. The outer vines connecting the leaves and grapes add to the intricacy.

The Blue Bow Geese made a comeback in my dining room about 3 years ago...they sit at the bottom of my old wood stove. I love them.

I love that oval mirrored tray! I enjoy digging through the office supplies at Estate sales too! Oh that green apothecary jar is amazing! 💚 I was thinking the exact same thing about that rd white and blue creamer… tiered tray!! ❤️🤍💙. Great shop along and haul! 🤗❤️🥰

I believe that piece you hold up is Westmoreland milk glass. You can look up their pieces. Also the milk glass through the years changes but all are technically milk glass. Early milk glass in the 1800’s is usually opaque and in later years more solid dense white.

I would have purchased the red rooster as I found him very handsome. Also depending on the price I would have picked up the pumpkin knobs at 1:04 of your video. My mother collected "milk glass". It is translucent and not solid white. Many times if you hold it up to the light the very edge is a little clear. From what I could see of the piece you showed, I would call it "want to be milk or white glass".

I love the corn tureen! I see them often but haven't been brave enough to actually buy one to use. 😃 Office supplies at Estate sales are BEST. No one ever looks at them and they practically give the stuff away. So many lovely things at the Goodwill today. Was that an Anchor Hocking striped cookie jar at 11;08???( or was it Hazel Atlas). 😍💕

I think that single cow was missing a nativity set. I love hat boxes. That athletic supporter was probably vintage from the condition of the box.😉😉😉😉

How do you tell when a piece is a hobbyist piece? I know you have been shopping for quite awhile and just have the experience to be able to know if it is or not. For us not experienced in doing much thrift shopping, is there a way or clues as to know if it is a hobbyist piece or not?

Usually the Holland Mold pieces are hobbyist pieces. Also, you can tell by the quality of the painting on the piece. If it looks like it was hand painted, it probably was a hobbyist piece. Hope this helps! 🥰

In the store I had no idea where I left her and when editing I noticed it looked like she was kissing the bowl. I know it’s weird…but it happens. Lol! When editing you see so much more than when you are actually in the store and you think, “gosh, I left her looking like she was kissing the bowl”.
