Glad you enjoyed it - the FoS is my favourite motoring event, been loads. One of the reasons for its success is the "when". They fit it in between two of the F1 races. The Earl of March apparently puts on an excellent dinner and has a splendid and comfortable house. The charm of the event draws a lot of people and their cars to it; if you're ever going to take your F1 team anywhere outside of a race, or ship your rare car across the ocean to attend a large public motoring event, it's going to be the FoS in the Sussex countryside on (hopefully) a sunny British weekend with an excellent party to look forward to. It's also become the place where the F1 types can simply forget F1 racing and be car people for a few days. So, they like to come. Even Ferrari turn up, at least they have done so on the times I've gone to it. Which, when they first did, was highly notable; Ferrari had never done a public event such as this before. The informality also makes it. No "special tickets" for access to "special cars". Just a ticket, and pretty good value for money at that (certainly a lot better than going to an actual F1 race). Truly, a car enthusiast's paradise. I used to live round that area, when it first started up. For that part of the world, having a big, annual, mega-event like this has been a pretty big injection of cash. Plus, because of the event, it meant that when BMW were looking for a site for the new RR factory, BMW already knew the Earl of March. So that helped bring the factory to the area too (it's on some of his land), bringing more well paid employment. Sure, he's probably done well out of these events, but all in all he has brought a lot of money into the area; pretty good really.

Was there in 2019 for two days ..probably the best two days ever. Except for my kids been born ohh and my wedding day 🤪
