"Why the hell do you have the wipers on for" Cut Wayne some slack. Did the video help you decide whether or not to leave the Duratracs on in the snow? Sit down and stfu. Actually, @@waynewinton, what wipers are those? If they can handle a dry windshield they must be pretty solid. lol

I started using these when I noticed all the plow trucks at the company I work are equipped with them. Great all around tire for sure, my older Grand Cherokee goes like a snowmobile in the deep and rolls up the freeway nicely.

Why are your wipers going like it's a blizzard out? Unbelievably distracting.

Your driving on snow, add a little ice into the mix and it’ll be a different story.

I see this video is 6 years old but perhaps someone may respond. I have a Hummer h2 and the sudden snows I have on it now are extremely aggressive tires and make driving unpleasant. I am looking for a studded winter tire that doesn't make me feel like I am driving a tractor on the freeway. I am looking at a set of Duratrac tires and was wondering how the ride felt at freeway speeds. Thanks in advance for any comments or reviews.

Thanks for this very good test. I'll put these tyres on my Land Rover Discovery V. What about their behaviours on wet road when you're driving over speed limits?

Goodyear tires suck, I have them on my jeep now and I hate them, im going with either BFGs, Cooper, or General tires soon

Very cool that the tires perform that well, but that van is incredibly cool as well! I forgot what company does the 4x4 conversions but I sure wish it was a factory option because 4x4 vans are just so cool. I think it's Quigley that does it.

It doesn't show in the video, but you must have driven through a blizzard with your wipers going at that speed. Damn! Where are you from, looks like a nice scenery...

That's pretty impressive traction for 2wd. I'm debating between these and the Cooper SST Discoverer. We don't get a lot of snow where I live in Virginia so that's really not an issue, I like the aggressive look of the Cooper, and have been told the Duratrac is is quieter on the highway. Is that true?

snow is more mank = sticky on dirt = easiest terrain for traction, but I have seen more than a few light trucks riding duratracs in winter..

Dura-Tracs ROCK!
@1000miles2paradise

I dig this video, very informative. I'm on my 5th set of DuraTracs, owning 3 different rigs with them on each one and getting ready to purchase a 6th set for a work truck. They are very, very good tires. My ONLY complaint is once they get down to around 12/32" of tread depth, their wet traction diminishes as does their LIGHT SNOW traction. But the DEEP SNOW traction maintains nicely with the large tread blocks. They are definitely the best tire for those who don't quite want (or need) a mud-terrain tire but want a little more of an open tread pattern than a standard all-terrain. I'm definitely a fan of them (as if you couldn't tell, ha!)

well, shoot and darn, all that snow takes me back to when i was a kid. i remember my daddy decided to take a teaching job in Fort Collins Co at some university ( i dont remember the name). we lived in a small town nearby. Greeley. the winter was a bunch of crazy cold and the snow was piled high til the spring i reckon. the real problem was my mama couldnt take no cold and she was fixing to leave with or without my daddy. so we packed it up and headed back to beaumont (southeast tx). anyway, very cool vid pal. thank you for sharing.

Deciding between the duratrac, bfg ko2 and nitto Terra grappler g2. want something that's quiet on the road but good control in wet and snow conditions.

dura track is better than BFG but I have not tried the Nitto's yet so I cant say.

I've ran Dura Track's and BFG's in snow and off road. BFG's sideawalls blewout or got cut way more than Dur Track. They also did not preform as well in the snow

You will like them. As with any Snow tire They are only great snow tires for the first 1/2 of there life, Then they become a bit slick but I put so many miles on my vehicle that I always wear out a set of tires in a year. I buy fresh tires in September / October sot they are always in prime preformance for the fresh snow. Then when the softest rubber has worn down I burn off the rest in the summer.
