This video made it much easier to install the new blades. The paper instructions that came with the wiper are of no value. You've made it simple and easy to install when watching the video. Thanks...............
These blades are absolutely ANTI-INTUITIVE. Thank God for the videos. I've installed about one per year over the last ten years and I watch the video every time to get the job done. Surprisingly easy if someone shows ya.
Great that there is the video showing to REMOVE H before installation. INCLUDE BETTER INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PACKAGE. I didn't even think I had the right attachment so your customer service had to: 1. Take an unnecessary phone call. 2. Send me another type attachment that isn't even needed so Goodyear just wasted postage. One would not assume that a piece must be removed as so many other attachments are loose in the packaging. The frustration expressed by previous comments is shared!
Holy cow, thank you for this video! We had 4 people arguing, trying to figure it out for 2 hours before the 8 year old said "why don't you dummies just Google it?" Ha! Done in 10 minutes. 😵💫🤯
Thank you. Spent half my afternoon Friday with my right wiper flopping around because the mechanics wouldn't come out and put it on correctly. I finally broke out the gorilla tape to hold it in place. Monday I'll install it properly, since our mechanics can't be bothered to extend their education to such a simple task to go with the newer school buses.
Spent 20 minutes trying to install my windshield wipers using the written instructions.. took 20 seconds to install it after finding this video. THANK YOU!!!!!
Some joker from your factory installed the B-base adapter on my wiper instead of the H-base. As far as I can tell, the design for these does NOT allow you to remove the B-base, only the H-base. So I effectively have a defective wiper blade. Thank you for such great quality control. EDIT: I figured it out. If you got a mis-packaged one like me and need the H-base, just pull out the B-base from the small loop using a pair of needle-nose pliers or a flathead screwdriver. Anything that can give you a bit of torque that's also thin enough to fig in the hole.
Thank GOD I found this video too... the instructions are less than garbage. WHO KNEW the one if comes with has to be pulled apart , reversed and WORKS. Thanks for posting this.
Thank God for this video because I was totally lost on how to install these wipers with the instructions provided. I was scared they weren't even on properly and when pulling the H Adapter I was scared it was going to snap. Instructions should note newer models I'm sure only need steps A1-A4. 😐 I'm exhausted and smell like Earth after fussing with the wipers in the hot sun for 15 minutes. I do appreciate the price though. Let's see how they hold up.
I was trying to figure out the instruction for 3 minutes & about to give up & return it until i thought to try searching on youtube. It took me 20 seconds to learn it w this video 😊 Probably would be a good idea for manufacturer put the video link in a CR code on the package so people just scan it.
yup, few years ago bought another set and it looked different from when I last bought from same place, Costco. I was frustrated by it and thought I bought an incompatible blade, and so returned it to costco for a refund...few months later, I told myself...hmmm, it must fit, so I bought it again, and thought about it as to 'how' can it fit? how, how, how? So I figured it out, and yes, the directions were bad, and should have said to take off the adapter that was already installed onto the blade for hook arm types... that was so frustrating...
TWO AND A HALF “FING” HOURS TRYING TO DO THIS WITH WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS AND OTHER YOU TUBE VIDEOS. IT TOOK ME 5 MINUTES AFTER VIEWING THIS VIDEO!!!!!! DAMN!! WHY DON’T YOU REFER TO THIS VIDEO ON YOUR INSTRUCTIONS!!!! COSTCO, COSTCO TAKE SOME DAMN ACTION!!! JEEEESSSEE!!!!!!!
Your product instructions are very poorly written. There is nothing in your written instructions for the hook arm installation that says that you must first locate and remove the "H Type Adapter" that is already inserted into the assembly. No one would ever think that they must first remove something that is already inserted by the manufacturer! Why insert it in the first place if you expect the purchaser to first remove it? That just doesn't make sense. I was about to return your wipers to Costco until I saw the mention of a video installation at your website. If purchasers don't somehow find this installation video first, they will most likely return your product.
As of the instructions on the ones I just bought at Costco yesterday, there is the direction to remove the inner-piece from the main mount (not in those terms). I just got back inside from installing them based on the directions (alone), and am only now looking for reviews on the wipers as I feel they (due to the solid profile they have) are gong to catch too much air, and skip around, at 70 or 80 MPH.
********CAUTION*****This is for an older model blade on the new one you don't have to remove the H1 adapter but it does have a tab that you have to flip up and then it locks down after instalation , no arrows either...........last caution, put a piece of cardboard under the wiper in case it slips out of your hand and springs against the windshield. I'm embarrased to say I cracked my windshield. Good luck.
It is understood that the instructions will be in different languages. But the photos themselves seem to be in Greek too! They are not at all intuitive! BUT, somehow you need to advertise this video more prevalently so everyone goes to it first. All the other stuff is totally demeaning to the Costco purchase of these great Goodyear Wiper Blades! Maybe put the RU-vid Video Address on your paper "instructions" so nobody has to guess. It is THAT GOOD and THAT VERY SIMPLE compared to everything else! Glad I finally found it - after watching 4 or 5 others. I think Goodyear is missing out on a lot of additional sales by having the instructions so elusive. (Or, maybe we should all be complaining to Costco for Goodyear's terrible instructions?) I think I'll look into that.
Great video! But how to remove these Goodyear hybrid wiper blade from hook? The blade instruction has no info. I can not find info from the web either.
Thank you. Easy instructions for my 2005 Chevy Cobalt. Would have been better if the written instructions included something about which cars had the "hook arm." I needed to remove my old wipers to know that my car had a "hook arm" type.
I can't push the adapter back onto the hook it doesn't seem to fit! it came off easily but it seems like the hook is too big now ! what can I be doing wrong?
I watched others videos before it occurred to me GY may have a video produced . Good video, better than your confusing paper instructions. Print "How to Video!" on you paper so it is more obvious. Also I was appalled at how much waste is created to get these wipers. Next time I plan to only replace the rubber blade, found that video looking for this one - apparently costs 7-10 bucks - what a deal, but need dealer wipers to start - at 10 bucks, 10 + 7 = $17 for ongoing cost of 7-110, so much better deal, and much less waste in landfill.
I've been working on my own cars for 45 years and I've never cussed this much at wiper blade installation before - please hire somebody that can write installation instructions better.
Bought these wipers. Could not figure out how to attach them. As there were no instructions, looked up here. surprisingly, the wipers i bought are a little different from these (same company though) and the adapters differ too. There is no adapter which is depicted on the video and there are no adapters that looks similar to it. Sad. Really sad.
Need to update the paper instructions that come with the wipers. Give a web address to find the install videos, and if the person doesn't have that ability tell them to return the wipers. I mistakenly went with the paper instructions and they are absurd. I was going to take them back to Costco but figured I'd give the intewebs a chance first. Took me two minutes after I found this video.
Installed today, hope it works well tomorrow. I have the factory one in the trunk in case. I should have bought both at the same time but I might just return them and get Factory refills. The refills looked a little hard to install but I'm sure they're not that bad.
Hello Mr. Andrade, thank you for choosing to use Goodyear Wiper Blades. When replacing your wiper blades, you do want to replace the wiper blade as a whole, since wear and tear does affect all components of the blade.
Every car I put this brand on, part of the wiper does not touch the windshield and of coarse does not remove any water. Is there a trick to get these blades do touch the windshield?
Mr. Richter, please email the vehicle years, makes, and models to jenny.solares@saverblade.com and she could help see if there is a solution to the issue you are experiencing.
"Insure that the directional triangles are facing upward" - One will face up and one will face down, no matter how I install them. Nice advice! Don't hire the intern who wrote these instructions. Otherwise, I like the snap into place feature. We'll see how they do.
Agreed. The combination of opposing arrows and the instruction that the arrow (which one?) goes "up" is disastrous--and completely avoidable with better design as well as instructions (video and print).
Installation instructions: there are A B C D types. If ur vehicle has type A arm (hook), ignore B C D. In the A, step 1: press down at the triangle side, then lift up the other side; step 2: move it up completely. Then slide this, push that. Simple! They are all in ur instructions just like how u assemble a Gundam without an English word. Idk how ppl found it difficult to understand symbols rather than literally written words like: "Cautions: this paper cup of coffee is hot" UNNECESSARY stuff.
This adapter seems way too flimsy. The unit can be removed again with such minimal effort that I feared it could fly off. Rather than risk it I'm going to return the unit.
Joseph the adapter is a POS, though I think you need to use some elbow grease to take it off. Mine broke somehow and when I went to lift up my wipers since it was snowing, I effortlessly just pulled my wiper from the hook!
I don't care if they're giving these away, avoid at all costs. There is no reason for installation to be so difficult. Adapter does not snap onto J-hook (it's rigid plastic) and doesn't mount. After 30 minutes and a serious cut to the palm of my hand, I tossed these in the trash, headed to AutoZone, and got a set of Anco wiper blades. Seriously, save yourself the time and trouble and do the same.
10 minutes I won't get back breaking replacement blade, no thanks to instructions not mentioning installing simplest most common hook arm wiper. Have to return this broken one at Costco now. At least say to go view video on blade install in directions.
The adapter was absolutely not completely seated in the wiper arm...you have to pull it all the way forward until the adapter clicks into the J-Hook! Very poor presentation from the Vendor.
Even with the video these are absolutely the most worthless and extremely difficult wipers to install ever.... Bought 1 set years ago and gave up trying to install. Bought another hoping for an update and nope....After 30 minutes gave up again. Returned again and paid 3X more for quality rainx wipers. Installed in 30 seconds.
Step 6: DON'T MAKE YOUR PACKAGED INSTRUCTIONS SO FUCKING OBTUSE! "Tool May Be Needed"... good thing I happen to have my handy-dandy multi-phasic, super-dooper, air-powered TORQUE wrench, in my back pocket... that MUST be the "tool" they mean! Seriously, just add a piece of paper that says "Watch the RU-vid video, our instruction writing is for shit."
Bad design. Bad instruction. Very confusing to install and remove. The blade is too thick in height, and the passages side blade arm interferes with the trunk of my 2007 Nissan Moreno when the blade rotates. So I wanted to remove and return it. But It s extremely hard to find out how to remove it easily even after I searched internet. Still no answer. I got 770-18 and 770-26. They need to improve the design and instruction. It ruins American brand.
