IDK what it is lately, but the content you guys have been putting out on RU-vid is top notch. Maybe its just me paying more attention, but keep it up guys! I love the way you guys are showing Pixel features no one else is talking about.
You can do way more than just that with the Pixel, now with the recent updates you can hit the little blue button on the top right of the screen to temporarily talk to other apps without having to download them. It'll work like an assistant "guest", and you can say "let me speak to Akinator" and he'll pop up in the form of an assistant and start asking you questions about the character you are thinking. But they have news, sports, facts, quizzes, oh and some other games too that you would be basically playing through a browser window but it's a pretty seamless transition.
Awesome In Depth Video Thanks so much for sharing really enjoyed this.I have one question when you are out and about and you want privacy is it hard or a headache to switch from Voice to Typing like say you don't feel like using it or what privacy in public is it going to be a issue switching from Voice to say typing or calling or just when you just privacy in general and you don't want people knowing what you are saying or doing. Thanks for the Review enjoyed Deb
Very good tutorial. Thank you sir. I am using the assistant on my S7 edge. I'm going to go and check whether I can wake up my device like you woke up the Google Pixel. That would be awesome. :)
I know you talk about the Google assistant but does the Google pixel have a voice assistant also wear when you tap on an app it’ll tell you what it is? Basically I am asking because I want to know if someone who is blind like myself can use it?
Lol @ Bike lock combo... Your Pixel XL is as big as mine! Actually, mine is a little bigger, with the Mophie Juice Pack Case, and has protection, with the Zagg Invisible Shield.
I hope its better at voice recognition now. Google now detects my voice only 30% of the time when my screen is turned off. The iPhone 6s is way more accurate and it detected it 90% of the time.
I have Android 4.4 and I can add things to my Google keep shopping list from Okay Google any screen. (create keep list names Grocery) A lot of these features were in Google now, seems like all they did was make Google chatty.
could you do an update for 2019? Many of the things you show in this video worked great 3 years ago but don't work anymore now. For example, the shopping list is not in Google keep, and the reminders work a little bit differently at least I'm experiencing that. Also they note to self but notes somewhere else
Carlos Battousai It is far more advance and more "human" like than Google Now. That's why everyone is talking like it is a such a huge feature. It can do everything Google Now can do plus way more.
Such as? All I've seen is a Google now that I can't type in to. Big problem since I always use my phone out and about the loud streets of NYC. At least within the Allo app I can see my last few queries and easily go back to,not the case with Assistant. I've yet to see anything other than a new interface. So I'll ask again what's the difference between this a Google now? Please outline an example of something I can do with Assistant that I can't do in Google now or something Google now does that Assistant does better.
I use to be able to do a word search from any screen in any app by holding down the home button then holding the word/words. How do i do this with google assistant?
NLDMesa06 if you're using voice, then yes, you have to say "OK, Google". If you don't want to say that you can just hold the Home button to bring up the interface.
I can't alter my default notification time when using Google Assistant it is stuck at 15 minutes before. I've changed it in the settings and asked the Assistant to remind me 1 hour before a calendar event (which it says it will).
***** that's not the case with my phone (Moto z) I've trained it with my voice, yet, when I ask Google now something it says "I can't do that unless you unlock your phone"
It needs wifi or a data connection to access information from the internet. It does not require wifi/data to do most other things like add calendar events, read you your notifications, ect.
I wish I could change "Ok Google" to "Yo Jarvis" without an app. And using ok google to unlock isn't that great on 6p yet, ive trained it a couple times unless I'm missing something but listening to a podcast the audio will sometimes randomly trigger OK google even though it wasn't said. Besides that though I love it and my 6p.
It would be nice if you could configure the key word from O K G O O G L E to something else a bit cooler , As an alternative i usually run a launcher of some description because pure android seems a bit lacking to me as far as personalizing goes , so i have my launcher/s configured on any phone i have configured with gestures , the main one i always set up on different launchers on every phone is just the simple swipe up on the screen which activates voice search without having to speak " ok Google " or even look for the little microphone and tap on it.
Legit question: is this just Google's version of Siri? Or does it do something more advanced than Siri does? (I know it's supposed to learn via the so-called AI, but I'm looking at what it is now not what it will be in the future.)
One major difference here is Google is going to allow developers to take control of Google Assistant's functionality. This is on the opposite end of the spectrum as Apple, as they are always closed end-to-end. It will be interesting to see what developers can do with the technology.
So many people are wondering how this is different from Google Now, like do you realize how important conversational speech with an AI will be? Especially with millions of Google phones providing data and experience for the Assistant. This will be huge in smart technology development from the only company we can trust not to fuck it up.
I find Google Assistant frustrating - for instance I've set my default notification time to 1 hour before on both my computer and phone in my calendar app, but it sets to 15 minutes before if I use Assistant to create a calendar event. I have tried contacting Google but they say they don't support the calendar app and point me to a forum that then points me to links that I have already looked at. 5 years I've tried to find a solution - I've just come to the conclusion it's a bug they just don't know how to fix.
this phone is only for people who forget things very often, i dont like the design, and google asistant can be port to other rooted android phones running nougat.
Well, it is a lot smarter, it doesn't talk like a robot anymore, and the flow of conversation is so smooth that it's almost like talking to a thinking person. There's also the games( like the "Are you feeling lucky game show"). Last that I'll say is how it learns. I can't really explain it but it's pretty creepy at times
Didnt realize OK GOOGLE DETECTION on any screen was on on my phone..... Every time he says Ok Google, Google app opens on my fone and I'm like what magic is this
