Thanks for this in-depth look into the Google Maps API. Excellent information and workflow. You definitely deserve more than 872 subscribers. Maybe remind people to subscribe and hit notifications more often. I've seen that the channels which grow quickly like Mat Watson at Carwow are not afraid to ask their listeners for their support. Super comprehensive and well made video. Plus the timestamps are super helpful for referring back to this when doing my work. If you're still making tutorials, you should make one that shows how to create buttons that will turn markers/routes/polygons on and off.

I just need an information related to interactive maps which should be rendered from a database and clicking on any of the polygon on a shape file should display information related to that. Do you know how to do that and which software would be best for that kind of stuff. I have heard that GeoServer, Open layers will do that but not confirmed? Please reply

Is there a way to draw a path depending some coordinates (lat/long)?

Hi Bryce. My interest is not specifically in the graphic display of locations in a map. Rather, I wan to be able to return the name of the city and or area that a coordinate is contained in textual form. Or, something like given a city name or an area, I get those whose coordinates fall within the boundaries of the selected city; that is assuming that I have a table that contains varied locations of individuals. In this case, I have the thinking that a city wouldn't just be a single longitude and latitude but possibly an array of coordinates that form the boundaries of the city. Thank you.

Hi bro. I am dealing first time with google maps API. Im doing some guy's website in wordpress. And his google map had that gray watermark across whole map, so I billed His acc and retrieved google map javascript API. I've successfully putted it in wordpress but now I get this strange error to console and map is totally negative, I mean it wont show. After watching 20 minutes of this video I'm pretty sure I'm asking a pretty elementary question for this audience (developers), but I can't for the life of me find a plain English answer anywhere... What are google map APIs and why would I need it? *Context, this rabbit hole started about a week ago. I was looking for programs to use that can easily integrate a virtual tour using 360 photospheres into google maps (tiered one-time purchase depending on how much they want done). I want to avoid subscription models (as a consumer who absolutely despises pay-to-play subscription models, the last thing I want to do is start charging people subscription fees, which would be the case with APIs it would seem). The best solution that I have found has been to use Kuula for the affordable pricing option on the virtual tours and to use panoskin for the slightly less affordable option to get large virtual tours onto google maps. I'd love a software that can easily handle both to avoid problems down the road with tours listed in multiple locations. I really don't want to use google street view on the phone to create large scale tours with +20 images in them, because doing everything on the phone just annoys me. If anyone is aware of an affordable software solution that does both (the virtual tour and google maps integration without API keys, I'd be incredibly grateful. The few that I have found that seem to allow you to upload the tour straight into the google server all seem to require a Google API key (which involves the credit card). I'm trying to figure out if there are solutions that exist, that are affordable, without involving the API keys (and I think that understanding what they are and why they are used will help in the pursuit).

4 hours in,,,stilll trying to find the api key in the google platform!!!! , thats why iam here. good you said about the cost side of things,,,pity google offer no idea of how many map user hits, $200 translates to... i didnt get the api key when set up a project... now cant find a tab anywhere with the api key in it.... wtf lol
