Did you say the pixel 6A has glass back? No it doesn't. The only thing that makes the pixel 6 A in my opinion is the tensor chip. Beside that I prefer the pixel 5A in every way. Why didn't we see camera samples?
Upgrading from 4a to 5a was a no brainer because of 5g, bigger battery, bigger screen, better processor. 5a to 6a seems like a downgrade because of smaller battery and smaller screen, smaller camera, not sure about this
I can't believe they got rid of the AUX port. I don't like Bluetooth earbuds, I think they all have terrible battery life and decent ones are too expensive
Is the tensor chipset any better than the snapdragon? I was thinking about upgrading the 5a to the 6a because the 5a snapdragon has struggled for what I use it for and the trade in $300 on the Google store. But from what I've seen it's not super worth it.
Pixel 6a still has pretty good battery life among phones, but yeah the 5a outside size (could be too large for some) is like the ultimate budget useful feature packed all around Pixel. Battery life, headphone jack, camera still incredibly good (it's 99% the same as 6a), enough horsepower to operate without ever feeling slow, etc...
Please compare the video from both of these. There should be a difference in the dynamic range because of Tensor. This is something most reviewers are not looking at.
I don't know about the 6a. But my 5a just died. Black screen of death out od the blue. Not a single drop. 15 months of light use. And I'm not alone. A lot. A LOT of people are having that issue. Also, this is the 3rd (and last) google product that dies on me within 1 year of use. A router and one of those "nests" are the other 2.
@@estack24No, no I didn't. I'm not in the US (nor Japan) so I have no warranty. And even if I did I SERIOUSLY DOUBT I would ever get another Google branded product. Like I said, this was the 3rd device from them that died on me within a year and a half of using them. They CLEARLY have some QC issues they need to solve and they don't even have the basic human decency to acknowledge it.
I really liked my 4a5g, which seems very similar to the 5a. It just gave me a black screen with only haptic response to the power button. Then haptic stopped and no response, and my computer doesn't recognize it when plugged in. I opened it up and no damage at all.
Why is the under screen fingerprint sensor an upgrade? I've had the 4a and 5a. I've had both screens replaced once and never ever have I had an issue with fingerprints. Every phone I've had with under screen a. worked unreliably, b. didn't work at all if I had the screen replaced. I thought Google hit the nail on the head with the rear fingerprint .. I mean it naturally unlocks as you grab it from your pocket.
Not really a like for like comparison. Many of the aps weren't logged in on the 6a. Temple run want even the same level. Btw the Tensor is accelerated for machine learning, which you did not evaluate.
I like the 6a, and I was thinking about buying it. But, I do wish that the fingerprint sensor was on the back, or that the under display one was faster. Also, the pixel 6 family is riddled with bugs, still. The other phone I was thinking about is the Samsung A53 5g. Which do y'all think would be the better buy?
For me, I dislike using rear fp after using 2 xl and 3xl as it's quite annoying when you have to lift up the phone each time it asks your finger to authenticate something. I like Google's approach with 6a and a series onward. I also like face unlock on my current 4xl as I just tap my phone and it unlocks even in landscape unlike iPhone now with iOS 16
Nah, the pixel family isn't still riddled with bugs. Most bugs were ironed out within the first several updates. My 6 pro is bugless and works flawlessly.
@@13jkeefer13 That's good to know, in the past that's what drew me away from the Pixels. They're great phones, I was just worried about the bugs, but if they're fixed that's awesome. :)
I see many people opting for the 5a just for the battery, look, one of my TOP priorities is battery life, and I think in the long run the 5a is just not worth it, let me tell you why. The 5a has a snapdragon 765g processor, I swapped my phone in December 2021 from a pixel 2 XL to a Pixel 5a, it had a nice snapdragon 845, it was really snappy for a 2017 phone, I actually didn't want to change my Pixel 2 but the USB port died, so when I tried out the 5a and switched, I noticed EVERYTHING lags a little, and the phone was new, surprise surprise 10 months later and I feel like my phone is already 2 - 3 years old, it lags on WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram, sometimes gets stuck on Chrome, each update it comes out makes the CPU even slower, etc. Now the Pixel 6a has a big CPU in comparison, and a monstrous GPU (around CPU 80% and GPU 370% improvement), which in all situations, its really worth it. In a nutshell, you should ask yourself the question, in the long run, which phone meets my current and future needs? Pixel 5a has battery durability and faster fingerprint scan and Pixel 6a has huge performance, newer tech, and longer software support. Taking into consideration that the 6a has more value for trade-in on Google Store in the future. Today I traded the 5a for a 6a and I just had to pay taxes, I can't have a phone lagging me likes a Moto G5 in 2022 even though the battery life is good. The good thing is that when the PIxel 7a comes out, my 6a will have much more value if I want to trade in. Also my 5a doesn't let me record 4k 60fps longer than 30 seconds to a minute due to "overheating" issues (it doesn't feel that hot at all to the touch).
In a recent battery comparison of tons of Pixel phones, the 6a is almost as good as the 5a. I think Android updates/perhaps an adaptive battery that needs a bit of use have made all the early battery tests of the 6a inaccurate ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Q553ufqZHU.html
I got the 5A not too long ago bc why wait for an Android phone when there are so many options. I am still waiting for the iPhone 14 Pro Max bc I am running out of storage on my iPhone 11Pro MAX 256 GB Silver Model.
