I cycled thry 7pro and 7 and I'm always regretting when I chose one over the other. Google should make the regular Pixel closer to its bigger brother and let the A-Series take on the entry level market.
Battery life on both devices has easily lasted me throughout the day, but I’m not a heavy phone user. Standby battery is also better this year in my experience. It feels like there is improvement over the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro’s battery from last year. - Josh
I just bought the P7P directly from Google and was able to get it for $600, because of a Black Friday sale and because I switched my carrier from T-Mobile to Google Fi. I did opt for the memory upgrade to 256 Gb, for an extra $100.
You mention the "slick" look of the Pro's camera bar, but I disagree. It's been shown to scratch extremely easily, unlike the regular 7's camera bar. The most expensive device shouldn't be the one most likely to show wear and tear.
No, not in the same way. You really have to be looking at that screen from an off angle to see the screen darken a bit but there’s no noticeable green/purple color shift like you get with the 7, at least to my eyes - Josh.
Does the Pixel 7 support 60fps for third-party camera/webcam apps? I have an Samsung S21 and one of the downsides is that it only supports 30fps for third-party apps.
I do believe that some of the marketing for the 6 was the fact they made deals with Snapchat and meta to increase the camera and picture quality. I'd assume it's the same with the 7s
Yup had the 7 and sent it back to Google for the 7pro simply because the screen was too damn small. I have a 14pro max and thought I could deal with the 6.3 and could not.
Can anyone help me with this bug I'm facing with Google pixel 6a ... My phone automatically gets reebooted whenever I use an application related to the camera like Snapchat or just the camera app after some few snaps
Not as bad as the Pixel a series, it’s slightly noticeable though when you look dead on at the screen with a white background. Without a white background I don’t think it’s very noticeable - Josh
Great video, thanks man! I do have a question: I currently own the base Pixel 6 and I'm struggling with whether it's worth upgrading this soon. What would you say?
I’d also agree on upgrading just for the FaceUnlock alone, especially if you can get a good trade-in deal. Face unlock is such a good quality of life feature that makes a difference every time you open your phone, if it was me, I’d upgrade - Josh
A benefit of going for the Google pixel 7 pro instead of pixel 7 will be the resale value in the future. Pixel 7 in 2 years or even next year once pixel 8 comes out will be selling for 200-250 maximum. While pixel 7 pro will sell for 400 To be fair both phones will depreciate rapidly. Hence maybe iphones are much better at retaining value.
I love pixels, but I'd buy neither . Ugliest pixel ever . I'd be worried about sneezing and scratching it . The displays are a bit washed out looking too . Superb camera's though.
@@mjjones1045 of course colour is subjective, colour is seen differently on the spectrum. Maybe it's the standard display brightness I don't like and not necessarily the calibrated screen colour?. Either way something is a bit off with the display 😉 the pixel 6 and 6a parked next to it on the display stand had nicer displays. Maybe the display model was a defective unit ?🤔
@@marksouthwell4490 interesting, I still have my regular pixel 6 and I think my P7P screen looks better. Maybe it's the different screen resolutions between the two. I try to stay away from the defective unit excuse, because it kills me when people make excuses for companies. I don't know. I wish we could sit next to each other and you could point out to me what I don't see and you may have a point lol. I came from Samsung notes so quality screens definitely are at the top of my list. One thing I don't like is the screen feels like plastic to me. My pixel 6 was the same way.
@@mjjones1045 I think it's individual, we all see things differently through our eyes ☺️. I preferred the displays on the Samsung and Apple phones ( my own personal viewing experience), maybe it's because they are a bit brighter (800+ nits)? To me the pixel 7's looked like they had a faint grey haze, moreso on the pixel 7, the Pixel 7 pro had a more pleasing display ( best way to describe it ) maybe I'm sensitive to that particular OLED display ( I know it's a Samsung variant display) I've come to the conclusion that my eyes feel more comfortable with brighter OLED displays or standard LED type displays
Screen quality was 100% why I went with the P7P. I had both the P6 and P6P and the difference was super noticeable. Not just color shift but overall quality, such as image uniformity. I love the flat display and smaller size, but I consider stuff like that to be a defect and it drives me crazy. If you don't tend to notice that sort of stuff, then yeah, save some money and go with the non-pro. The other benefits are going to be super hard to justify unless you really feel it's worth the extra cost to you.
The only problem I have with the pixel 7 which I have right now and I have about a week to decide if I want to keep it, but my only problem is the screen that's it, just if the screen was just better. I'm just having problems deciding if It's worth upgrading to the pro because of the screen. I still have my Note 10 plus and my Note 10 plus has a pretty good screen on it. Maybe I should just send my hotspot to my Note 10 plus when I want to watch videos cuz I got 50 gigs of hot spot on my phone plan
@@digovicentini1 not sure I understand what you are getting at. The Google pixel 7 last for more than 7 hours, with heavy use. And if you are not using it much, just checking quick notification and answering calls. It will last you into the next day. The brilliant thing also about the battery is that, even when I have 20 percent battery at night, it still remains at 17 percent into next morning. And you can save yourself slow charge by buying a charger that is minimum of 35watts. Meaning you can easily charge the phone to 100 percent in less than an hour.
