Happy with s23. And Alrounder I would say. Feels good in-hand and battery life is great too

Everyone says that the Pixel 8 has better software support, the problem lies in its chipset compared to the s233, How will that Tensor perform after 5 years of use, as it is still barely average in the middle segment?? With s23, I believe that sd gen 2 will still be competitive in 5 years against phones in the middle class.. And as for the premium look and feel in the hand as well as the build quality, Samsung is ahead of the Pixel in every way. Personally, here in Serbia, the prices of these two devices are relatively close, so I believe that s23 is better in terms of investment-gain. I use s23 from March, and is awsome. Cameras is way better from last updates, battery can hold 2 days of usage, if you can use it wihout playng any games. But when i travel and use phone a lot, it ends day for about 30%. So my money is on S23... see ya

I have both. The P8 is great but the performance difference is undeniable if you have any intention of gaming. S23 can run a new game like Star rail at high and 60fps, where P8 struggles and needs to run at medium and 30. Hopefully the most recent update fixes rhat because i prefer Pixel experience.

Plus you will get the new versions of Android and security updates much faster on Pixel devices.

Samsung is less buggy, and at £550 on amazon, cheaper than the pixel. I would choose the S23 but I'll probably hold out for the S24 and see what generative Ai and translation features they bring. Hopefully on device - most of pixels useful features are cloud based and offers via google one, so you don't need a pixel
@Vss077
@Vss077 9 месяцев назад
tbf cloud based AI is prob currently better compared to on device, since its easier to train / update the AI, on-device needs an seperate update for faster compiling, learning, (features) & prob doesnt learn as fast as cloud based, since the AI doesnt get feed as much as a cloud based one (since it moslty only learns from your data), which makes it bit more "restrictive". for bugs: if samsung had proper OneUI i would agree. but their launcher is so unoptimized its insane compared to other brands, but they getting better. Also to bring the pixel up: thats what u pay for, u can use it for free otherwise u pay for it, like any 3rd party AI software - i would like to use it but pay for it monthly? nah.
@kierenkd
@kierenkd 9 месяцев назад
@@Vss077 I like OneUI - the multi-window is best in class. Better than all other Androids and iPhone has nothing. Secure folder is great, Routines is like Apple Shortcuts. Multi-Sound and smart things is great. I don't know your experience but typically critique of OneUI comes from low level handsets or very old versions. On device generative AI is useful from a speed point of view. There is enough processing power on the new new chipsets for langange models and most imaging tasks without uploading to cloud
@Vss077
@Vss077 9 месяцев назад
@@kierenkd could be, i usually dont buy every generation or have used the newest one, last time it was like 1 year ago on a mid range model. also i dont use all those feature u mentioned, they are all not important 4 me or to be more precise - i would never use things like multi window or sound. To AI i agree. imo both things have their pros & cons - i expect the new SD gen 3 wont have "much" AI, its very basic too, as seen that some chinese devices have the new chip but still missing the promised / shown main AI features, maybe in 3-4 years it will be insane.

@kierenkd 9 месяцев назад
@@Vss077 FWIW _ looks like Google is launching a Secure Folder and improving Multi-Window in upcoming Android 14 updates (9to5 google) . I've been an Apple user since June 2021 with an iPhone 12 (before of that I had an Oneplus Nord) Now I am a back to Android with a Pixel 8 for 2 weeks now. This phone is great for my usage. Bright for outdoor, fast to switch between apps, beautiful camera for everyday shots (I have a Sony camera for more HQ pictures) and great battery life for its form factor. 5h hours of screen time per day, and it usually need to charge at 6pm or 8pm (with the iphone I needed to charge it 2-3 times per day). I went with the Pixel to go pure android and it's so smooth to have only the Google apps and not the Samsung ones (or Xiaomi ones). I only play Clash Royale once per day so I don't use this phone regularly for gaming, so the G3 CPU is doing great to me. Pixel will probably be available for significantly less than the S23. Once it happens, it's the way to go.

Pixel: obtrusive search bar google makes you keep on homescreen Galaxy: do what you want Galaxy wins. All that matters to me is freedom

You can easily add a different launcher to pixel = no search bar, but you can never get rid of the 20 useless bloatware Samsung apps, which sometimes create problems with Google apps that everybody uses. The Samsung has better hardware, but I wouldn't say it has more freedom.

@@xenod1066 Do you hear yourself? You're acknowledging that Google forces you to tie up 4 slots, an entire row, on your home screen with some Google bullshit "launcher" and calling that equally free to Samsung which doesn't have that requirement? Case in point, with Samsung every single slot and row is 100% free for you to do as you please, but this is not the case for Google. True you can't uninstall some Samsung apps, which isn't ideal; however, Samsung doesn't force them in your face the way Google does. Mine are buried in a folder in the apps page--I literally have not even seen them FOR YEARS so I can't say it has an impact, being just being a nuisance in principle. So, do you want a full row of forced propaganda on your home screen or a home screen that is 100% your choice. Guaranteed Korean-American freedom wins in my book!

@@dyeace lol. You can get rid of the search bar. You can't get rid of the apps. Sticking the icon in a folder doesn't get rid of the app, it still takes up storage space, and still tries to become default. And since nobody prefers them, why have them at all, let alone make them impossible to remove? Shouldn't that be up to us, whether it's Google or Samsung, or whatever? I like Samsung phones, I'm just not convinced that they give you more choice or freedom than pixel. Both could stand to improve. I don't see why anything other than system files should be impossible to remove.

@@xenod1066 1. You can't remove search bar on pixel. 2. What's this about other apps trying to be default? Must be another pixel fail. On Samsung you choose your defaults and it sticks for life. Haven't adjusted default apps in years, and they're all custom. 3. Storage isn't an issue. I have 512 always (Samsung's minimum since it's always free upgrade from 256). And I never use more than 50gb. TBH I wish my phone had less storage in the age of cloud. Just paying for shit I don't need. That said, if you really care about storage 🤡 I doubt Samsung apps take up much space. Couldn't tell you what the Samsung apps are or what they do. Unlike Google, Samsung doesn't shove its shit down my throat. Rip your home screen

@@xenod1066 just double checked lol. Google confirms the search bar can't be removed. As discussed earlier best you can do is replace it with another bullshit. Your home screen can never be 100% yours. Cope game is strong with you for suggesting it can be removed

I absolutely hate the new Pixel 8. Bulky, heavy, too large bump, software issues, signal issues. I was google nexus and pixel customer. I will most likely never purchase Google phone again. Its absolute rubbish.

I don't need either. The Oppo Reno 10 Pro plus that I have, with its 120X zoom capabilities, with nearly optional zoom from ultra wide angle to 10X zoom in between, is better than these two.
