Google Pixel XL - Half Screen Flickering/Black and Grey 

I have the same issue happening with my Pixel C. Will the same thing work? James did that fix it for you? I'm assuming it did given you hearted the reply

Erm, clearly you no nothing about the Pixel phones, the OG pixel has it's LCD ribbon cable seated in the middle of the phone.

Your'e a life saver!!! it worked on my Pixel 3a XL. My screen was 100% pixelated and right now I am out of warranty so this was the perfect tip.

your screen connector pin in not properly connected

Uhhhh. You'll want to get that checked. the sound going out is the first indicator of the battery going bad in my experience. The battery bulging lifts the contacts for the sound out of place and stops the speaker working.

of course I'm saying this a year later and you probably already know
