Well I have just tried to use the filter in the date column selecting condition "is between" and then entered 2 dates in the same format as in the cells and it just works like a charm, so I guess google has updated the support for it.

There's no need to convert the date to a number. You can prefix your date with 'date' in the query string itself.

Had a quick question on Query ....I have data in which one column has number format as " AB12234" when I use query function it's gives put as " " can you please provide resolution for this .... thank you

What would you have to do if you want to simplify the query even further? For example, if you wanted to find the total sales per brand for a given date range

If you're having problems then go to lesson 4. I think that converting dates to numbers like in this lesson doesn't work anymore. The method in Lesson 4 worked for me though.

Your tutorials are amazing! Here I'm running into a challenge I can't find a solution for. I'm trying to run a very simple QUERY with one trigger. It's a dropdown validation of a string 'lastname, firstname', and it never seems to return results. My QUERY refers to the validation cell (select B, C, D, E, F WHERE C = 'A1'). Tried doing the formula exactly the same way, doesn't work. You are missing the = " and ' from the formula.

Hello, i want to ask what the best way to reconcile data, for example i have data from form response then some of them buy a product so i made a sheet for the sales contain name, email, and number i want to reconcile the two sheets to get more like number, address, age... etc. i used filter helpful but with big numbers of data takes time because my admins some data in the sales sheet not written right. any advise to be able solve it asap. thanks

What is the limitation of using columns? I have a sheet with columns of 152. If I select the column above CF, it gives Error "Unable to parse query string for Function QUERY parameter 2: NO_COLUMN: CG" any idea?

I could be wrong, but this information may no longer be correct (as of 5/24/2024). When following the instructions outlined in this video, it didn't work. This is an example query that did work: select B, F where F = date '2015-01-08'. Instead of using date as a number, you need to include "date" and enter the date with 'YYYY-MM-DD" format.

This doesn’t seem to work in excel 2013. I have Power Query installed. When I enter the query formula I get an error #NAME? Does this only work in google sheets?

hi thanks for the video -- I'm trying to COUNTIF for a specific variable within another Column inside the same tab: =COUNTIF(COMPLETED JOBS!$G$2:$G$1564,select "I WHERE I >= 44562",1 ("OM")) --- OM is the project manager's initials I want to count # of his jobs where the Project Completed Date (column I) is greater than 44562 (cool trick) ... what am I missing here? thanks again

because the query function works perfectly fine when it is in the same file: = QUERY ('1'! Great, I am doing a dynamic query, but sometimes I do not have a parameter to search for, example, I have a Start date but at the moment I do not have the end date I want to search for all, or sometimes I want to search for a value between numbers and another time I just wanna look for a value greater than XX..... I try to use regular expressions like .* or %.* but it seems to be an Error (#Value!),,,,,,,,, it can be done?
