The best thing is that the auto generated subtitles feature worked almost on "goldy Winx" and "potato parsnip peeler prances petulantly". Unless there was some interference...

Yeah they have gotten really, really good over time. If someone has a good quality mic and can enunciate, then the auto-generated subtitles are pretty much spot on. Please shame Stuart in the next video.

+Leaf Shade I believe the speech recognition program does have some part to play in the demonetization algorithm, with it being used by the automated corporate algorithms that search all videos, even privated videos, for copyright infringing content.

^ Most of them are just the people's names in Japanese. I can't read enough Kanji to translate the ones that aren't, though.

By manually writing the stuff into google translate, I get these results: Izzie and Chris: absence Paul Gannon: Faulty Carpets: Bosogo Mr. Silverman: "Kō Ri ichi shiruba ichi maso" translated to "Tekliba Silva Maso"

This (the "Mr. Falcon" thing)... And I don't know if it's the same on every version that uses that particular censoring, but on the one that I saw, the voice was so not Bruce Willis it wasn't funny, it sounded like some stereotypical British monologuing villain, like Mr. Falcon was some super-spy and not-Bruce-Willis was executing his 'kill him slowly with an easy way for him to get out, and leave the room so I don't know if he's dead or not' plan on him.

Ahahahahahaaaa!! I put the nerf herder quote into Google Translate three times with different punctuation and it came up with three weirdly different results. Here: "Why, you stand up, rely on half and see the palm of Nalf Herder!" "Why, you stand up and rely on half and you want to see it dazzling Nalf · Helder!" But by far my favourite, and the most ridiculous: "Why are you so cool and cute Nalf Herder!"

As someone who has used a lot of Google translate, I noticed you missed punctuation in some of your quotes. That will mess the Japanese translation up even more. So, good going whoever did that. It made it much more enjoyable for us.

I'm not the person you asked but I'll tell you. Slepp (or to give him his full name Slepp the Idol) is a dark god worshiped by Justin Bieber created from a mistranslated article in Sharticles 3. I'll give you the quote: 'The reason for this should nitlely that aggressive fans at the stage refused to give slepp the idol their bones.'

Surprisingly, the translations into Japanese aren't bad, the translations out are. The Karate Kid Translation back didn't even have "Wax on" but the Japanese had the equivalent of "Put on the wax"

They're not bad, but they're usually quite literal and drawn out. An actual translator would be able to give more concise translations.

There is a site who does that already. It takes your phrase and translates it to 10 languages, then gives you the result back in English, on top of showing the translation steps.

You know I was thinking this game could probably be reworked with better success if you used common sayings/idioms. Like raining cats and dogs, straw that breaks the camel's back. That would take out needing to know pop culture, maybe level the playing field.
