So, from what I can gather... in this universe, the residents of Halloween Town had to move to a small town in Arizona, "Fables"-style, and struggle to adapt to this new life. To better fit in, they try to bribe the local kids with dogs, which might be kind of sort of working out, though they still have to do grocery runs n the middle of the night. Some folks are going through existential crises and struggle with the fact that their time on this Earth is woefully limited. The mayor tries to remain chipper, but no one takes him seriously, as the community apparently faces a constant threat of terrorism, and the situation in Korea is not getting any better. Also, there's some rabble-rousing jackass running around who insults people and takes all the cookies. And the latest horror film at the local theater is boring, as is everyone's life in general. And they can't even finish their musical number, as some jerk nearby starts blaring Paul McCarthney songs at full volume. On a personal level, Jack and Sally's relationship is in shambles; Jack has become a footballer whom everyone possibly hates, while Sally has resorted to prostitution to support herself and might be suffering from some sort of mental disorder. The witches are depressed, struggling with their sense of identity, and the Mayor no one cares about. The Creature Under The Bed has become a lazy videoblogger. On the plus side, The Creature Under The Stairs is apparently a lot more comfortable with its body, and the Ghosts are now into hip hop. And everyone has cups of tea, cookies, meatballs and dogs to spare, so that's something.
