Hair yes fingernails no, you can technically remove feathers without blood and relatively painless. Feathers also naturally shed. Same as hair.

It wasn't being eaten alive.. the Eagle was removing the down feathers before tearing it apart, at the end of the video. Also the chick was clearly dead at the end, due to shock and suffocation, from the Eagle crushing it to death.

Why are so many people hating on this eagle for eating and providing for its child? Eagles are predatory animals. What do you expect? So many people are sitting here saying they would shoot that eagle not even considering then the baby eagle would starve and die. It's the circle of life. Eagles aren't just going to become vegetarian. @@GeneralBuckNaked I saw a stork nest cam on YT where the parent brought its chick a live mole, and the baby stork swallowed it whole (as most birds do). well the mole cut up the storklet's innards and you saw the thing writhing for awhile in the nest before it succumbed to its injuries (mole died inside too). that's not an issue for raptors who pick at their kill. but dayum. it's a good reason to kill it before it goes in yer belly/gullet, eh?

Hes doing all the dirty work on the gooses nest instead of doing it on theirs. It also feeds it for his babies and they see it's pluck so they know how to eat food correctly from the beginning

In mother nature I believe lions are one of the few who have mercy upon their prey. They make sure it's dead before eating the potential prey by suffocating it (hold on the neck) I'd rather die by suffocation than to be eaten alive, I would assume much more painful.

You must not have seen the plethora of RU-vid videos that show otherwise. Lions, especially when converging on large prey like buffalo, don't always concern themselves with killing their prey before they eat, especially when most of the pride is present. They don't bother killing the creature, if the poor thing is unable to run away or put up a fight.
