Me and a buddy went half and half on some tangle free decoys and we only got 84 for around $300. We are looking to expand our spread and this looks like a much cheaper option. How are they holding up so far. Very interested in doing this to save some $.

You don't need the backbone but it helps with making them look good when there is little to no wind.

I'm having trouble finding the 11 gauge, black, single-strand wire. Could you give us some hints on where that can be purchased. Will 12.5 gauge work?

I am not sure where you are located. I'm in Canada and at the time of making this video I got it at Lowe's in Canada. Any fencing supply store should have it. If you're out in the boonies I think tractor supply should have it. Depends where you are to be honest.

How did the wire hold up in the wind?

The wire held up pretty well to be honest. If I am lazy I can bend it somewhat and then unbend it in the field and just stick it in. The longer wire allows for me to stick them in shallow water, when hunting a shore like we did last spring.

Was just curious I ordered 10dz and needed stakes. The wind gets pretty bad here in Kansas. Kind of figured it would just bend over.

@@harnett5758 if you get the 9 gauge wire, it's fairly strong. If you use the fencing wire it can bend over. To be honest, if they aren't willing around then that's fine. Any socks can do the death whip and scare away birds. Even the tanglefree and sillosocks do it in 50mile an hour winds.
