I have 3 Goose Feet down filled products starting with #1 100% overfilled Down Booties which I bought several years ago. They reside inside my Western Mountaineering Antelope (5ºF) rated Sleeping bag. They keep my feet toasty warm no matter where I move my feet. I like that there is no insulated sole, just down. #2 Overbooties - which I thought I wanted, however, I've only put 'em on over the booties, walked around inside the house & decided I'd bought something I'll never put inside my backpack for an overnighter. #3 This fall I ordered a custom made pair of down filled pants that is one of the smartest decisions I've made. They keep my hips/butt/legs/ankles comfy cozy. I got 'em in the color I wanted, baffles, overfilled, & just a front fly zipper - for less than I'd have had to pay for any other brand of off the shelf down filled pants that weren't custom made. Thanks for sharing all that. I was really waffling on the overbooties. I wondered if the sock would slip inside the overbooties or not. Super cool you got the baffled pants! I don't know how many times I filled out the form with all the extras I wanted. Like a kid in a candy store! But alas, I spent all my money on sleeping bags. Maybe next year. @@mattsmountainmadness There is no rain repellance with the outer fabric of my pants. The bottom part of me resembles the Michelin Man when I'm wearing the pants.
Thanks for that feedback. I think I will spring for the overbooties as soon as I can swing it, because, those WM Expedition boots are too much when it isn't that cold out. Plus, they tend to give me a "slippery feel " when I put the GFG inside them. Thanks my friend! Take care, Matt
Hi there, I wonder if you would recommend the GFG Overbooties? Being able to put the overbooties on to go around camp without having to remove the down socks sounds nice, but I wonder if having dedicated down camp booties is better?
