We are back with a new goose hunting video 2022. In this video we shoot greylag geese (anser anser) and Canada geese (Branta canadensis). No barnacle geese this time. My faithful dog Stone is of course by my side.

nice retrieving work again from Stone. You have many decoys to be jealous of. can you tell us a bit more about the pattern you're using in this case? thanks in advance.

Hi Lodewijk! Stone will be 12 in June! the pattern, which varies greatly from the wind. That can be a banana shape, L shape, or U shape. but you would undoubtedly have been able to watch with the best in the field 😂👍

Its always great to see your dog in action. Nice shooting! Its crazy your bird season is still open. Here in the US in closed awhile ago.

Hi, thank you 🐶 It is correct, it is damage control in the fields. Depending on what area we hunt, we can hunt different geese, crows, pigeons, jackdaws. Duck season ended with us at 31 january for example. Hope to see your comment on a next video 😉

Another well filmed video. Some of those geese seemed to be flying faster than usual. Wind at their back? Never noticed the barbed wire on the wooden fences before. Those banks are quite steep. It is tough for the dog. What did you put in the water for Stone as a snack? Birds are arriving here now. Season is 5 months away! Thanks for the video.

Hi Musher, thank you! you saw that correctly. The wind made them fly very fast. Those sides are definitely steep. That's why I like to lend the old Stone a hand. I gave him an egg. He loves it and it's good for him. terrible that you have to wait 5 months 😖 I'm doing the last competitions of the spring season with the young dog, how are your dogs doing?

@@HoltanMedia Sledding is over - even though you would think we still have a lot of snow! So the sled dogs are finding it tough. The retrievers are good but they have 5 months to wait, too. Looking forward to your next video.

Hoi Erhan, dankjewel! Jacht start met de eenden half augustus tot eind januari. Maar schadebestrijding op ganzen, kraaien duiven etc. Kan het hele jaar door zijn.

We hunt for meat, to let the dog do the job it was born for, and we help the farmer with damage in the field.

They look a bit dumb honestly, here in Italy any bird, from crow to duck to pigeons, as soon as they see the barrel of the gun shining, they'll instantly change direction if you're not well hidden with tree branches... over all great video!

Hi Stefano, they are not... especially the grey ones are very smart. We are hidden in a deep ditch, camo over the dog. If you have a lot of wind, they come in low... so it was a good day. And thanks! 😀👍

Canada goose can weigh up to 7 kilos. And with smaller birds... always one at the time, you can damage the meat
