Personally I liked the 2015 movie, but for more of a Goosebumps history reason than a horror reason. I remember that back when Goosebumps first came-out and the outrage by parents and school staff that it was a series of scary books for kids and how angry these adults were. So much so, that some schools banned the books and there were actual book burnings as the reaction. In my mind the movie was like a really good reality punch to those people and felt like it said, “ By reacting the way you did, this is what you looked like and even though you did that, you’ll never fully get rid of us. We are here to stay and the kids really like us. Like it or not.” And as for Jumanji, love it. Jumanji is the game of life. It’s wild, it’s messy, it’s unfair and it’s unpredictable, but at the same-time it’s also touching and warm-hearted too, just like life.

Goosejumanji Well jokes aside. The movie could've gone with the anthology route. Like Trick R Treat or Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. Overall, it is what it is.

I was 12 when the Goosebumps show came out, definitely the targeted audience. 2015 not so much the targeted audience but I still did like it I just feel like there could've been a lot more done.

I still think people overreact about the whole Jumanji rip off thing. People love Zathura, but no one hates on that?
