GoPro (or other) Camera chin mount for the SHOEI GT-Air Helmet.
Mount using two packs of sugru shop.pe/7RfTe
Parts Used:
SHOEI GT-Air Revive TC-5
Xiaomi yi Camera with underwater housing
GoPro 90deg mount ebay.to/2NxkMbU
2x M5x25 screws
2x washers
2x o-rings
2x packs of sugru
GoPro Helmet Front Mount AHFMT-001 or GoPro J mount
(Also used Givi Helmet holder ZH101)

I have no idea why someone would give you a down vote. Thanks for taking the time to make such a thorough demo. I hadn't heard of Sugru before and now expect to use it to mount my GoPro 5 when it's available. This configuration is much cleaner (and lighter) than using the additional extended GoPro adapters.

A follow-up. I literally just finished attaching the same GoPro plate for my Hero 5 using Sugru. Very easy to do. Watching your demonstration I opted first to mount the plate temporarily using painter's tape that I crumpled up and stuck to the plate and helmet like double-sided tape to position it. (It was only temporary so no issue.) Once in place I used painter's tape to marl off the sides in order to conceal all the places I did not want the Sugru to cover. Once I positioned the "Sugrued" plate into place, I used a boxcutter (gently!) to square off all the edges and now I'm just waiting for it to cure to remove the tape. Again, thanks much for the demo. It was very helpful and confidence-inspiring. (It ain't hard to do, guys -- just like using Play-Doh, only you want to be neater than when you were a kid.)

Why not rough up the finger joints which will give more grip when tightened where do you get putty from

Καλησπέρα 1. Αν εννοείς θόρυβο από τον αέρα στο video ναι έχει αρκετό. Αν βάλεις κάμερα που δέχεται εξωτερικό μικρόφωνο μπορείς να το τοποθετήσεις μέσα στο κράνος με πολύ καλύτερα αποτελέσματα. 2. 198 :) 3. Καθημερινά οδηγάω με τη ζελατίνα όχι κατεβασμένη τελείως. Οι αεραγωγοί στο πηγούνι εμποδίζονται από την κάμερα αρκετά, θεωρώ ότι δουλεύουν στο 30% 4. Όχι καθόλου.

glad I came across this video, I have a gt air and have been struggling to find a way to mount my go pro it in that area because of the edge on the chin. have a few questions before I do this, how well did it work, is it holding it securely , is there anything you wish you did different or any recommendations you have, or anything else I should be aware when doing this???

i liked this helmet alot and wanted to buy it, but the only reason i was worried was how could i mount my chin mount...hence i was started looking for other helmets....but then i stumbled across your video :) thanks alot for this video, im gonna get the same helmet now :)

A very neat a clean job :) I've been watching youtube for weeks wondering which is the best method to chin mount hero4 to GT Air helmet. Normal pad mounts need to go too far back on the helmet and all them fixings to bring the camera forward just doesn't look good. I've more or less decided your option is the best so thank you for sharing.

I made mine out of JB weld and just use the Gopro tripod mount and It works perfectly and has held up for a year.

I've totally just ordered some Sugru, this looks great. The only critisism I would have is the music on the video, I musted it because it go to annoying. I little voice over talking through the process would have been better, but I of course appologise if you're mute, but you might have a friend with a voice? Cheers! :)

Sugru has more grip when used directly to the mount. I will not recommend to add sugru to 3M sticker.

the o-rings can help with the vibrations so they dont go loose. I imagine that's why he was using them, since they're rubber ones.

Don't buy it, it will come of at high speeds Wich will end with your GoPro destroyed. Happened to me sadly.

Hey Loannis, I have read that Sugru does not have much tensile strength so I'm in two minds whether to try this. There's a few people wanting to know if it it a long term solution, is it still holding up or has it fallen off? Has anyone else tried this that can comment on long term viability? Cheers, Andy

No it will not hold, I was driving 225 km/h and it dropped off, my GoPro is destroyed by this solution.

according to the sugru.com FAQ "Like most adhesives, Sugru struggles to bond to plastics with certain oily finishes (such as polypropylene and polyethylene)" does this mean that a helmet with a shiner surface like the one in the video is less desirable than the helmets that dont have that waxy shined surface?
