No other proof needed that Ryan Villopoto is the best rider on the planet. He didn't need a world championship to prove it. Although if he woulda kept it on two wheels and just tried to be consistent I think he woulda pulled it off. Unadilla is so much gnarlier than most of the GP tracks in my opinion. so many ruts, braking/acceleration bumps, big jumps, gnarly corners...The only MXGP track I think that is gnarly is Lommel. Max Anstle freaking killed it in that race on the gnarliest sand track I've ever seen. But RV2 will always be RV1.
I'm a moron and I've been racing for 16 years. Okay buddy. Pretty sure he's the best even though he struggled in Europe because he's never raced those tracks and got injured. You know you're on a factory bike when you get enough air off the top of screw you hill that you can whip it. Bike aside though this guy is unreal. That track is gnarles barkley and he's just hauling ass. what a beast. glad i got to saw him race once in person if he does retire
its amazing how much cameras have changed watching these videos compared to the ones in 2022 looks like you are going way slower than you are where this video looks like you are flying which he is but just crazy the differences

He did a damn good job of keeping the camera clean. I could tell he tried to stay clear of the lappers roost. And then when the time was right ZOOM! Right on by. Fuck! I think he went faster the 2nd moto than he did the first.
The last American MX hero, who I would have loved to see race RC more, (not quite the same "prime's"). This man has beaten RC and his 450 on a 250 in both motos, (RC's last race", at the 2007 MXofN at Budds Creek.). RV hole shot both motos on his 250, against 450's in both moto's and lead wire to wire both races. I miss the USA hero's of MX.
The reed valve for 2-strokes was developed by Yamaha and introduced in 1971 I believe. Boyesen after market reeds were sold after that. I don't think his early 1970's CZ had a reed valve, but I could be wrong. I think it was still a piston port engine. I know the 1976 Honda Elsinore 125 was a piston port engine still.
FaN FRICKING Tastic ...X ,,1,000,000 Unadilla N.Y. always delivers the MOTO-X goods, incredible, natural , year after year after year... ..Not a bad seat on the entire track... You can not tell from the video however many times you watch it, but allot of those ruts are 4 and 5 foot deep, enough to swallow a bike and rider whole.
+Devon Richey - I believe what you hear at around 1:44 is not gear change, just a temporary loss of traction. He was already in the proper gear at that point.
