Yes, if its used constantly it will drain the battery much quicker. The idea is to use it only to line up your shot or to play back a video clip, rather then to leave it on all the time. Once the shot is lined up switch it off to save power.
The rubber clip is as people have stated already for keeping the mounts in place for high impact/shock sports. You can use it on any mount in just the J mount. It also reduces the rattle aswell. I used my camera with out and the rattle was horrible. Put it on and there is almost no rattle/vibrations.
You would be getting a fair bit of wind noise, hence I would probably just use the waterproof housing to cut down on some of the wind noise, while also protecting the unit from splashes in case you go through any water etc.
The white rubber thing is a lock for the mount. Where you push the two tabs in... you put the white thing in between that so it doesn't accidentally come loose on high impact sports. You put the thumb pin through the loop to secure it I guess.
The white Doohicky...yes that is its name is used for eliminating rattling. to do this put the circular part of the Doohicky on the black part of the bolt and on the quick release mounts the other end should fit around the base of the mount that comes off of the camera. I believe this only works on the adhesive mounts. hope this helps
I bought the Rode Stereo Videomic Pro for my GoPro and it is brilliant. The sound I get is the best I have ever had on a Video recording since I started.
@Danny Soto .. The white or orange thing that comes with the camera will actually fit where it clips in with the mount and camera and than can go around the bolt and that will stabilize the camera ... Another way would to get electrical tape and put two pieces on top of the mount where the camera slides in so I won't wobble.
That white things use for the standard clip on mount. You clip the mount onto one of those sticky plates & you then push the white plug into the gap of the bits you squeeze to unclip it....if that makes sense? its stop it coming off & stops the vibration looooooads making the image alot better
You should have opened it from the bottom :)! Than again, Im watching this because I was interested in seeing the differences between this video and the newest on your channel...
lol - this was my very first GoPro! The package is held in with sticky tabs so wouldn't slide out if opened from the bottom. Nevertheless, let me know what you think about how the channel is progressing. I would be very interested to hear your thoughts. Many thanks.
99% of all Gopro unboxing videos the person in the video says: "Not sure what thats used for .. let me know by commenting below" .. and i still don't know what its used for .. Nice video btw dude! ;)
Awesome video! .. Do you know where I can get a microphone that looks a lot like the one in the video, just with better sound? The microphone just looks perfect to the GoPro, but i saw in one of your comments that the microphone suck's .. :)
Hello, you said the mic sucks? Do you have a review while using that mic? I heard the GoPro only uses mics with a battery source? Do you know of any mics that work well? Do you think the sound is good enough without a mic? Thanks
I didnt bother with a review - it was that bad! lol Ive just purchased an Audio-technica ATR-3350, which is a self powered lapel mic. I use it with my iphone 4 and it works great. Should be fine with the GoPro.
Hi Sir, I watch with much interesting your video because I know someone that exactly sells same camera with suction mount for 180 euro. There is in this prices not an (Wi-Fi BacPac) included. On the other hand is there the SK4000 were I watch since days much video on RU-vid as also solder the missing mic female jack. The question I have understand that without the wifi backpack accessory it is not possible to use the iPhone 4s and 5s that I use with an app to mirror the video. IS THERE AN OTHER WAY TO SEE WHAT ACTUAL IN REALTIME IS FILMED? Perhaps an jailbreak tweak? The second question: Comparison the GoPro Hero 2 vs SJ4000. I have seen very beautify color video of the GoPro Hero 2. The SJ4000 has acceptable video but seem not so good as the Hero 2. Comparing the 2 action cameras what is your thought, is the GoPro Hero 2 still a better option contrary the much more accessory the SJ4000? Note: I'm not professional but care quality. The cinema quality super high resolution as today the hero 4 present is for me not important but as well HD in 1080p and color view. Third question: The lens of the Gopro seem to be in glass. The lens of the SJ4000 is synthetic, plastic. Are they interchangeable? Thanks to read my message and hope you will find time to answer. Luc
