Premix Utah It’s a 450. There is no room to rev it on that track.

@@nestserau Sure there is. You can leave it in 1st and second gear and wind it out, but there is no use for 65hp on these tracks. It is the same reason why 500cc MX bikes were pulled off the SX tracks in the 80's. The 450's today actually make more power than the 500cc MX bikes. But what I find really interesting in the 4-stroke era, is the fact that the 250's are usually faster than the 450's on the national tracks. It looks like the 250 is actually the better bike indoors and out.

@@periodtdot Yes, its a requirement by AMA, and as a sport we insist you make way for the men who have a shot at a podium. The fans wouldn't forgive a rider for interfering in a podium battle. Justin Bogle is the guy who waved Roczen by, and he's a class act. He was winning his heat race that night and slipped in a turn. Hes actually my favorite rider.

It was the only part of the track were a racer can go faster than another racer. It is too bad the only thing on the track that separates the talent is the biggest jump, if you have the nads to do it. It was worth about a half a second.

Yeah, i was there in person and just happened to look for Roczen on the track when he did that. Good to see him getting out of the way unlike some people do..

He did it, because the defending of a position costs a lot of time. If you know, you can't beat the guy behind you until the end of the race, you usually let them overtake you. It's win/ win for both riders. It's an universal unwritten rule in all kinds of motorsports :-)

Yep. Even thought the tracks are ill-designed to keep everybody the same speed, there can be one individual, (Eli did it a few times too), that can put a 60mph jump section together to actually be able to pull away from the others. 16 laps jumping it, .5 second each time,--yea, he won by 8 seconds.

The 450's have so much low-end grunt that you don't need to. You hear it more with the 250's. Well, unless we're talking about Barcia..
