Most people wouldn't want to just kill a bear. If it was attacking anyone would. Those animals are dangerous. They can't be trusted. I have a friend that an uncle had two children eaten by a grizzly. I wpuld kill a bear in a heart beat if it came after me.
@@silkyjohnson4519 I think he means by hunting it not to defend yourself. bears don't taste as good as a deer for example and killing something just for a skin is messed up in my opinion. literally killing a massive animal just for a decoration in your house.
@@zdarc9958 Bears can be very tasty or very nasty depending on what they have been eating. Statistics show that in places where hunting bears are banned there are more instances with humans and bears. That might be because there is a larger population of bears but also because the bears over time become bolder and less elusive of humans.
I eat black bear, but not grizzly. I have heard from other hunters that grizzly meat is gross. A good rule of thumb is that if you eat it, it's fine. I have a big issue with wasting meat though.
“Never forget he is a grizzly bear” this quote instantly made him wiser than most animal rescue/trainers out there. He understands that at heart bears are dominant beasts. But it’s nice to see the gentle side of bears too.
You're an idiot if you think any half trained rescue person who deals with large predators doesn't know this. Those who don't won't live very long lives. It's not even about them being 'dominant beasts', or even apex predators - it's sheer size and weight. A bear could be as meek as you please and aim for nothing more than a friendly swat to the back in playful behavior - but it could still snap a grown mans neck like a twig where it would merely jostle another bear of the same size due to their thicker bones and impact absorbing fat + muscle tissue. The bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell (documented in Werner Herzog's film Grizzly Man) died despite years unscathed working around bears because he came across bears that were starving after a long winter with almost no food - if that happens it doesn't matter how well you respect their size and power, they will still kill you unless you have a lot of backup willing to put the bears down (tranqs on a bear do not work that quickly unless you get them in exactly the right spot).
@Friendly Airwick I search up his name and then the bear and i found a facebook post from some days ago that Brutus had turned 18 or 17 i dont really remember but i looked at some other pictures and it seemed legit.
Watch Grizzly Man if you haven’t already. It doesn’t always have a happy ending lol so I seriously hope this guy doesn’t continue doing this forever because one wrong move and he’ll become bear poop!
Ray Espinoza that will be suicidal entering on the personal space of an animal and try physical contact will cause a total defense response from the animal, if u ever encounter wild animals there are few rules, dont freak out, dont make direct eye contact, and retreat steadily, most reasons y sharks attack surfers or swimmers is because the board resembles a seal body to the shark and splashing a lot will make em think that u are a prey trying to scape
+Ara Avagyan He's never yelling, harassment or using a stic. There is no cage. Nor does he speek to the bear in a high pitched tinkerbell voice, singing to him like an idiot.(like "grizzly man") There seems to be trust and respect.
well, we could be.. but when the human race was starting out it was a dog eat dog / man eat man world.. we had to fight for our survival daily, that includes against other predators.. we were never and will never be stronger than a lot of apex predators, but we are smarter, a lot smarter.. the only way WE as humans can live in peace is by culling the populations of predators down to what they are today, otherwise we would still be fighting for our survival on a daily basis. @@jomama5186
Definitely, we have to count our blessings & be thankful & appreciative to GOD for the Beauty of His Handiwork! There is definitely an afterlife Heaven & Hell. GOD gives man an opportunity to choose Jesus or Satan. Jesus loves you!
Religion has not been nice to our animal brethren, Religion says they're there for Humans, when they have their own complex lives with no need of human intervention.
I saw the go pro ad with the cub Bella, and i am so glad i clicked the link to watch the full story. This is truly an amazing journey. We need to realize that humans are the real monsters of the world. All animals are innocent, intelligent, and emotional beings with one goal, to survive.
+Arizaron Maximilianus Please, this naturalist guy is a rare breed. Most people are definitely monsters when it comes to any empathy for animals. What humans do to animals and their habitats on a large scale is truly disgusting. Thankfully people like this man exist though.
There's a very big difference between running a rescue operation for "damaged" bears, a difference between that and some dummy going into the wilds to "befriend" wild creatures. This is the first time I have every heard anyone "in the business" of wildlife speak so eloquently about the true nature of bears. After many years observing bears in the wilds of Alaska, I too understand bears as "gentle souls" -- or as I say "peace-lovers at heart". Excellent piece. Clearly Casey Anderson has it together.
Thank you for having the courage, dedication and compassion to fight for those who have no voice! Thank you for being an advocate for these beautiful, intelligent and sensitive creatures and our wildlife!!!
This is absolutely amazing and perfectly simplistic...one human's relationship with one animal. It's such an honest and pure bond - one that you can't find among mankind. It's unconditional love and never-ending respect. Something most humans lost a long time ago. We ruin and deplete all we touch, then dare to blame mother earth/her animals for what WE HAVE DONE. It's lunacy. For me, I'd rather support, help and be in the company of animals.
Right. But these animals will rip somethings guts open and eat their intestines while they are still alive. And they do that stuff a lot. We people do the horrors we do because we are essentially animals also. But we are supposed to do better because we have the ability to and many of us do or at least try. I mean it's been a long time since I've eaten another creatures intestines alive.
well... he was raised with a human so it's already making him a bit incompetent... like the man said "grizzly's and men should not be friends" he raised the bear and obviously never experienced real wild bears that if they seen him would shred him to pieces.
@@ryderwilson7955 well I mean in that case Wotjek the Polish bear had been raised by army men since his infancy and was able to get the best of another bear from the army, only difference between the two bears from the story was that the bear Wotjek beat was found as an adult instead of an infant. So that's really not a good point friend.
This is so gorgeous. Thank you for the work you are doing! I have met a grizzly in the wild for a few brief moments before it disappeared. Majestic creatures.
Nice I live in Australia so we never get to see bears like this. But the kangaroos, the koalas, the kookaburras, the wombats and the land. Some people think it's just outback when I say this. It's the rivers, lakes, mountains and all beautiful places. You just need to be willing to go past the barriers and the tough places that no one is willing to go to. So just think of all of the things that your home country has and think. 'I want to keep it like that'. Their used to be a koala that our family called Kevin in a small place called Korweinguboora. He was friendly but vanished after 5 years. I live in the city of Melbourne but that doesn't stop me from going out with my dad to go places to camp and hike. So yea, that's my story.
+TNT Spike We used to get Koalas all the time around my house, would spot them in the trees and their droppings on the driveway. But the increasing housing development around my area has stopped a lot of them returning.
+d3ugman plays that's stupid, what our world is becoming, they are driving animals out of their habitat for more housing ect. Prime example is with you :( wish it could stop
Casey knows the golden rule...when you are paling around with a potentially dangerous wild animal, never, not even for one split second, is the human in control of the situation. The Bear is ALWAYS in control. Brutus knows that, but more importantly, so does Casey. The videos I've seen of Bears attacking their trainers have all occurred from a situation in which the trainer allowed themselves to believe they were actually the ones in charge, and are trying to make the Bear do something they clearly weren't comfortable doing. I truly don't believe Brutus will ever 'turn' on Casey, because Casey would never be stupid enough to try to assert control over him. I mean honestly, how stupid would a person have to be to think they could actually boss around a Grizzly Bear!
Yung TedBounty That too....I do not claim to be any kind of expert regarding how to behave around wild animals, but I get the impression that Casey is smarter about it than others who have been attacked by wild animals who have 'turned'. Like Casey once said "Brutus is the boss, he dictates his life"
Nah I'm been following this guy for a longer run the bear truly likes him and his natural habbits aren't active I mean other guys wrestle around with the bears and shit Brutus is not Casey knows what he is doing and Brutus respects him look at The lion whisperer Lions are far more dangerous then bears cause they are alot faster then a grizzly and look at Kevin he is perfectly fine and he is doing it for a very long time
Yung TedBounty Lions are not a lot faster than bears. Bears look clumsy, because they are big. Big enough to kill a lion or a tiger. But they can still sprint very fast and climb a tree to get you.
Beautifully presented. The filming was so creative. Bears deserve to be able to live in peace. Yes, it’s their home, why should man decide it’s not. There are plenty of places for humans to go live. Let the bear live in his nature home🐻
@3,14 _ you are always at risk, but the dog that mauled you didn't know you from a very young age, it doesn't matter how much the dog cares for what he recognizes as his family or how well his family treated him. he didn't consider you family because when you are with a mammal since birth it gets used to you and the probability that he attacks you decreases although it would never be zero. Had you cared for the dog since he was born the probability of him attacking you are slim, unless he is sick.
Whoever says Zero difference. You got no experience. If you known an animal since birth and give it LOVE ❤️ then it will love you back. Even when it’s older and have you’re back. At least that’s what my leopard does. We have a big plot of land of him tho. No way in hell he can stay inside 😂
3,14 _, that dog had something called a “problem” you dumbass. Think of the animal other than yourself. It could have been hurt in a certain way, got some type of disease like rabies, you might wanna get that checked out. Also, you’re point is invalid. Dogs don’t do that unless there’s something wrong.
@@topperbopper4671 Some dogs are just not right in the head, nothing you can do to help them, they will just attack for no reason one day and then go back to their normal behavior. It's very dangerous because they don't have a reason to do it nor do they show signs of aggression the rest of the time. I knew a dog like that and it attacked me and its owner as well.
"A man and a grizzly bear are really not supposed to be friends but for whatever reason this relationship happened, it's been the greatest gift of my life"
Very touching, so beautiful to be able to catch a glimpse of the intimate aspect of a bear's life. Extremely moving. Thank you for your contribution, people like you make the world a good place to be.
Oh I loved watching this so much, and what a beautiful special bond Casey and Brutus have. Brutus is gorgeous, and little Bella is such a cheeky, but sweet little character. I would love to see more of this man and his bears. 🐻🐻
Bardhok Ndoji This guy is obviously insane. A grown man who thinks a 7 foot long 800 pound grizzly is a friend? That's taking mental illness to a new level!
David Lamotta ikr there was a man i forgot his name its something like tim or something he got eaten alive by bear there is a documentary about it named grizzly man
I like how people think wild animals are just as valuable as our own species. Your a part of the human race and it is your entire biological purpose to protect and prioritize it. Animals are worthy of life too and should only be hunted for food just as any other predator on Earth would do. Humans are a unique species that has a consciousness driven to reject nature and their own impulses. Humans have the capability to question their own existence and think of themselves as an individual. Each human is so unique that in an individualist perspective should be perceived as valuable despite our numbers. It is easily possible to protect animal rights without giving them the same moral standards as humans. Moral standards must also be met with a reciprocal. Most animals do not have the empathy to return such moral values in a mutual trust. It is our job to limit the damage we do, but our species is still the ultimate byproduct of billions of years of evolution.
Merkel's Fourth Reich You’re right in a way but as the smartest species it’s our job to be smart. We can’t just take for granted other species who didn’t evolve as much as we did. For some people we’re not different because of the statistical odds of even being around. Certain bear were granted life, same as certain humans. Let’s not forget that without other creatures, humans wouldn’t survive. Also, just because we can think about something that is almost certainly useless, such as computations or internal thought, they are only important to us. It doesn’t matter in the long run, and doesn’t make us anymore important. They got life and we have taken full advantage of the resources just because we are smarter. Undoubtedly we need to be more mindful and realize we’re sharing the same planet. Not just humans dominating it because we’re smarter.
I couldn't tell if I teared up from the happiness of witnessing these two unlikely friends, or sadness from the painful reminder that our natural world is in peril. But either way this was a very powerful video. Thank you for sharing.
No a real human is a creature that can think, learn and problem solving to understand how to self better. He is a human and so are most of the humans. We survived because of our ability to learn, unlike other animals that have the advantage of genetic advancement. We haven’t evolved, infact the world has pushed us down, making us weaker. Clearly the world doesn’t like us, but because of our mental development we no longer needed the world’s support. But we still need the world. Truly our real enemy is other types of humans.
But again because of our ability to learn we developed the knowledge to understand that alliance is the answer to survive. We found this after the devastation of World War Two it was a nightmare for humans, but it was also the time of our most advancement, the time to understand the other of our kinds. It made us stronger, and understood that we no longer needed war. Of course there are people who are very stupid, and that disappoints me. I speak for the human race.
While I do find bears "scary" in the sense of respecting them and knowing what they can do and that they can be dangerous in certain circumstances. I'd never want anyone to hurt them.

Gray Fullbuster lmao let me correct myself then ... all WILD life on this planet should be protected. Animals (chicken, cattle, fish) raised in farms to be consumed are ok in my book because they are not endangered or even close to that and they are bred in extreme numbers to the point where they are overpopulated. Wild life that's easily impacted by human activity should definitely protected.
Gray Fullbuster hunting or endangering wild life that is already on the decline is big no no. I myself promote and volunteer some time for Tiger conservation because as it is now, we won't have anymore in 10-15 years. And no I'm not vegan, I don't believe in veganism. I see how my original comment is hypocritical in that regard. But I'm for a balanced omnivorous diet. Just like we've been doing for the past million years.
Well if u keep ur own chicken and actually kill it urself then u got my respect. But most likely u buy 500 Grams of chicken for 99 ct and expect it to have lived a somewhat decent life. Sad. Feel free to disagree :)
Gray Fullbuster I live in NYC so yes sadly I can't have a farm of animals to kill and eat myself. And yes I do go to shoprite and buy common man chicken. But I still hold my opinion that all life is precious. I wouldn't hold it against a lion or shark if they tried to eat me if I was in their territory. That's how life works, a lot of animals eat other animals. Circle of life my friend.
Bears of all kinds, from pandas to Grizzlies are the cutest and funniest animals on the planet. They are playful and have a sense of humor. And great intelligence and awareness. And they look adorable. Leave them alone if you're scared of them. So simple.
The bear reminded me of a big dog, so I looked up if their was any relation. Turns out dogs and bears are in the same suborder, Caniformia- which literally means "dog-like". GOOD BOIII
@@codrin8606 I've been around bears for years. You can in fact treat them the same and get alot of the same responses. Just dont forget to respect it as it should be

The most amazing thing about this is that he’s not constantly feeding them. Most of the time when you see a “relationship” between man and bear the bear is constantly being fed to make it happy but here he just plays with and loves the bears
I love bears and have had some contact with bears here in Florida. Hearing you talk about the fear of the ranches and what the bears might do tells me they need to be introduced to your bears to understand that they are just like us, that we all need love and to be cared for by each other. Ken

+Crimson Wolf I love Baloo, he's in the Noah's Ark Sanctuary, part of the BLT family (Bear, Lion, Tiger), but the Lion died last year. Just RU-vid "BLT Bear", you can find their Official website from there, if your interested, they have a lot of wonderful animals, that couldn't fit back into normal animal society after being abused by humans! Baloo is my favorite!
I Hope ppl realize how beautiful this world actually is. Nature and all the animals. When we humans are in harmony with nature, giving stuff back to it it's like a place of heaven! We should stop cutting the forrest and destroying nature...upsets me that we are eating so much meat and not a lot of ppl realize that is a hudge reason why forrest is being cut.. I wish that one day we give nature a chance to grow back and restore the beauty that it actually is.
