Can somebody please explain the white card/yellow card thing? This is the first time I have seen this sport... Impressive, to say the least!

That's some freaky stuff. Did anyone else note Goran didn't push off from the wall at each turn?.

I guess is a strategy. Pushing from the wall gives you speed and momentum, but drains a lot of energies. In free diving energy management is crucial.

Yeah was just thinking about that too, well spotted

Another thing to note is the frequency and fluidity of movement. Oliver moves more than Goran with each stroke of his fins. This gives him speed, but in the long run it uses up energy. In fact, he has a strong abdominal contraction early on. This doesn't mean that you have to be slow to win, because that would mean spending a lot of time underwater and covering fewer metres. You have to find the right pace to cover the maximum number of metres with the least amount of effort. In this sport you really need to know everything about your body and what is the most efficient speed and technique for you.

Why did one of them use the wall to Push himself forward and the other didn't . Is it legal ?
@mislavmatisic1098
@mislavmatisic1098 21 день назад
I dont know the rules but by the logics of it I think both is allowed, you can do it but you dont have to, but mind you, if you push of the wall you are going to spend more oxygen but gain speed, and if you dont, you will save oxygen but lose potential speed gain. I think its a thing of preference. Correct me if Im wrong

Is it legal for Olivier to slightly pusg himself in each turn?? Otherwise, magnificent both of them

It's not forbidden to push on the wall. Not everyone does it because there can be a suction effect of the fin on the wall that actually ruins your effort.
