• Ambassador Bridge to c... A Frostoshi Film, Subscribe. Gordie Howe International Bridge is scheduled to open by the end of 2024. It will be 1.6 miles long spanning from Detroit, MI to Windsor, Canada. It will have the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America at 2,799 ft. At a cost of around $5.7 billion. This will replace the aging Ambassador Bridge that was built in 1927 - 1929 and only cost $23.5 million.
The Ambassador Bridge has to be demolished within five years after the new span opens, according to the Canadian government's conditions for the new span. Over and over, Transport Minister Marc Garneau and the government's order-in-council call the new bridge a “replacement” span.Oct 15, 2017

Great video looks like the workers are used to seeing drones fly by. Do you need a special permit to fly around the bridge site? Anyways keep showing these great videos!!

The "new span" referred to is the replacement bridge for the Ambassador Bridge. Fly your drone over the Ambassador Bridge and you will see the beginnings of the "new span".

@@frostoshi: No, it is not. As I explained, the Ambassador Bridge would have to be demolished IF the Ambassador Bridge Company built a new span beside the Ambassador Bridge. Construction for that span was begun years ago but the permits for the construction were never issued. Therefore, NO NEW SPAN. The Gordie Howe Bridge has NOTHING to do with this. Do some research, ffs.

First off. Amazing flying skills and video angles, well done! Awesome shot of all the workers with the Ambassador in the background…. an’ “out with the old, in with the new” feel. I assume you’re American….but would your drone have the capability of flying to the Canadian side or too far of a distance? Do you know if the towers have reached their final height yet? Thanks

They are caping the tops now on both towers, and the drone i use is the dji Mavic 3 pro, in distance it can go 8 miles, in hight it can climb to 3000 feet
