Juice and ego aside, dude has incredible composure during high level competition and really shows the effectiveness of his techniques. I've always liked how calm and controlled he is during his matches.
John2corner What?? Dude Nicky Ryan beat Geo Martinez. The best 10th planet guy in the world. Little kid is like 17. Garry is a freak. Look at all the ebis. Dude went with rousimar palhares and did great. Hes transitioned to mma. His first fight he out struck a muay thai guy. Eddie Cummings is top 3 leg locker on the planet. Jon Calestine not even on their "A" team just won ebi on like two weeks notice and beat Geo. Ethan Crelistine and Oliver Taza are freaks too. Seriously? Lol they're the most successful team today. The only gym close is ATOS.
John2corner eww no haha. Im a wrestler who loves leg locks, arm in chokes, kimuras and butterfly guard. You couldn't pay me to play rubber guard. 100/1 I prefer Adcc rules over sub only. Eddies style isn't conducive to adcc or ibjjf. Nicky qualified at to compete at Adcc youngest ever. I think Garry Tonon got 3rd or 4th. Ebis a pretty big tournament now. Definitely the biggest sub only. But Adcc only happens once every two years. It's hard to rack up a lot of wins there quick. The death squad is pretty new. And well give it a year or two. I'm not gonna mention ibjjf. Those rules are stupid.
Still blown away that he heel hooked Cyborg Abreu. In my head I've always had them in different realms on competence, but CLEARLY Gordon Ryan has reached the levels of the best of the best. Insane.
It's funny how once you start succeeding everyone hates on you. Even if he is on gear...than that would make it a level playing field for 50% of the athletes. Also, he didn't heel hook Cyborg because of gear.
@@RAJ-zo8cu JJ success is only partially due to skill. Strength, weight, and endurance are all important factors. If you pit two opponents of equal skill against each other, the stronger, heavier and more cardiovascularly fit opponent has the advantage.
@@percyfaith11 i agree, but gordon’s skill is better than everyone. so the “if all else is equal” doesn’t really work in his case. he uses very little strength unless the guy is 30+ pounds heavier than him.
@@RAJ-zo8cu If it he is so skilled that he does not have to worry about strength and size then why bulk up like he did? Vanity? The only way to know for certain that gear is not helping him is to test him before and after matches. If he's clean then we can say for certain that gear is not a factor.
Disagree - you can tell he’s actually humble deep down - that’s what happens when you go from nerd to beast. He’s very confident and not afraid to say it - can’t hate the man for doing what he says he’s going to do. People hate talkers, but they hate doers more.
I can't help but wonder how many high level competitors are on roids or TRT. It's my understanding there isn't any testing in bjj competitions. Not that it would help if you weren't skilled but if you were evenly matched with someone it could be the edge that tips the scale.
The truth is that in every sport, and martial arts in particular, when you get to the highest levels, almost everyone is on something. The advantages that this rapidly developing field of technology can confer to competitors means those that don't cheat have very little chance of reaching the top.
He would be a perfect athlete (and someone to look up to) if he wasn't so cocky on social media. As far as I'm concerned, humility should be one of the top characteristics on this sport. Sad he's like that.
Bruno Freitas I agree. 💯. However I will say that the only reason guys act this way a lot of the time is because of the money. You act like an idiot BUT people know who you are and wanna see what happens which gets you more money in sponsorships and larger platforms. It’s unfortunate it’s that way but it is EX- Connor Mcgreggor
The juice definitely helped Romulo. RB's physical transformation was nothing short of astounding. He went from a skinny guy to boulder shoulders with major glute improvement.
Not "to the gills." He could definitely do more, which would bring him to gill-level. Right now, he's just probably just "juiced." Needs more effort here.
His physique is more than doable for someone who grapples multiple times per day, has a calisthenics base, and added to it with hypertrophy-centered workouts.. the question is how functional/beneficial that type of muscle is - but obviously he is training that way to put on mass quickly and compete at a higher weight
Prime Time In Home Personal Training you silly look at him last year and this year his muscles doubled his veins quadrupled and his tone turned red as shit he’s on gear bud everyone on planet earth knows it. Now to be fair I’m pro gear if used in moderation he will live longer and be healthier
an experiment for those in your crowd: put in the hours he puts in (ha!), and eat like he eats .. do this for a solid year.. then do a push/pull, get a sweet pump going, stand in good lighting and admire the gainz
Prime Time In Home Personal Training yeah I’m a personal trainer and a bachelors in biology. I train at risk youth every day In southern Oregon. You sir are full of shit no one puts on that much mass naturally in a year without outside influence l😌😌
Prime Time Personal Training not really...when you think about how much time he spends grappling per day, think about how many calories he’s burning per day, to easily put on 40 lbs of pure muscle and no fat...it’s not really obtainable look at the most elite wrestlers and they don’t even compare to the transformation that G. Ryan has made its obvious steroids
He is good, one of the best in No gi but you can clearly tell he is on sth now. His body has changed so much in a short period of time. Wish he didn't touch the drugs..
2 yrs he aged at least 8 yrs. I LOVE this guy, but WTF?!? For realez can we just get the truth like we all waited for from the Bodybuilding scene???????????!!!!!!
I am so tired of Ryan. He is definitely the best at No-Gi at the moment. And I do concede that even among the other Danaher Death Squad greats, he seems to have perfectly absorbed Danaher's system and uses it to deadly effect. But I tend to be an underdog fan and it sucks that pretty much every RU-vid video with Ryan (aside from when Felipe Pena submitted him and when Craig Jones took him to OT) is yet again how about how dominant Ryan is. So dull. As the next couple of years play out, we will see how much of Ryan's skill is inherent and how much is due to steroids. In the meantime, consider me bored.
