[GORE/13+] Sunset Shimmer's Death - MLP Speedpaint 

It's supposed to be just a routine visit - Sunset slipping back into what was once home to see Twilight (and perhaps even Celestia, if there's time enough in the day). Then again, it's supposed to be a routine day for a lot of ponies/people - and if there's one thing she should have learned, it's that things rarely happen as they are 'supposed' to. She won't get another chance to learn. For indeed, unbeknownst to her and to the six wishing her luck as she leans into the portal, other chances are being stripped away. Rainbow Dash has detonated into color and flayed flesh and exposed bone. A tree has plummeted from the shockwave, taking Applejack with it. Twilight's concentration snaps to the boom and away from the spell, and the creature she's siphoning invades, cuts off her magic... cuts off what powers the mirror. Sunset hears the shatter before she feels it - before she sees it, glancing back. Sees the crack across the surface. The shards. The remains of her legs. Her... legs. Mercifully, she's gone before she can see her friends screaming.

The strong glow emitting from the surface of the mirror is such a beautiful touch and lends itself perfectly into the atmosphere crafted by that amazing pose and expression. Sunset really looks caught off guard, more shocked then pained and you can almost hear the portal slicing her clean in half.

....oh snap. Imagine the chaos from the other side of the portal. Just the lower half of Sunset's human form either stuck on the portal as if she was stuck midway with blood coming down or someone, probably one of the human Mane Six, seeing the bloody lower half.

I love how you drew Sunset’s expression. It really shows how shocked she is that she got cut in half by the mirror. And the details are absolutely incredible! Amazing job! I’m voting for Chrysalis’s death. I’m excited with what you come up for her!

(For this story, 1 Week on Earth is equal to 1 Hour in Equestria) "I have something, interesting, to show you. Meet me in Canterlot later tonight so we can discuss it." Sunset Shimmer was, intrigued, to say the least. She hadn't heard from Twilight in almost two weeks, not since she raised the sun for the 100th time. And even then, she wasn't one to not respond back. The two of them would talk when they had the free time to do so, and while their conversations didn't happen very often, they would give very long and detailed explanations of what's been going on in each other's worlds. However, this new message didn't exactly sound like Twilight. She could have actually written this herself, sure, but something was off, and Sunset was gonna figure it out. Is everything okay back in Equestria? If not, what happened to Princess Twilight and The Council of Friendship? Later that night, Sunset Shimmer approached the statue in front of Canterlot High, quickly gathered her surroundings to make sure no one was watching, and went into the portal. Meanwhile, in Equestria, Crysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow are standing above and smiling at the mangled dead body of Princess Twilight Sparkle, who, just hours earlier, was assassinated using the dark magic of the late King Sombra. Behind the princess are the bodies of her friends, The Council of Friendship, who all died at the same exact time she did. Rainbow Dash died trying to perform a Double Sonic-Rainboom, Fluttershy was mauled to death by her animals, Applejack was crushed to death by an old oak tree, Rarity mutilated herself beyond recognition, and Pinkie Pie committed suicide by hanging. The villains chuckled to themselves and at each other, pleased with the work they've accomplished. The portal behind Twilight's throne begins to glow and spark as Sunset is halfway between one Canterlot and the other. The villains, upon hearing the portal being turned on by itself, and thirsty for more blood, immediately whipped their heads around and blasted a beam of magic towards the portal, effectively destroying it, Twilight's Throne, and, unknowingly, severing Sunset Shimmer in half from the waist down. If the shock of the impromptu amputation wasn't bad enough, as she slid across the ground, Sunset bashes her head against the remains of the throne, knocking her out cold. The last thing she said to herself before passing away "I'm sorry Twilight, I guess I was just a bit too late."

Even though you didn't add it in the final result, I loved the detail of her lower human half on the other side of the mirror.It really adds a new sense of horror:her pony friends finding the mutilated corpse of Sunset Shimmer, and the chance that a random high school student will find only the lower part of a body...

This looks astonishing from what I can see! I can't hold up for the finished piece. I too vote for the Chrysalis death, since she is one of my all-time favorites.

I looked at the thumbnail and I saw that her cutie mark only had half of it bloody, meaning that she was cut in half. That detail is so amazing! Once again, amazing work blits!

Funny idea for Chrysalis: Her drones cook her to death by balling around her, much like how bees will kill their Queen if necessary

I absolutely love how this one turned out! it's so stunning, I loved the mirror, 3D is really a pain to do but it looks amazing! I like to imagine that this took place some years after the death of all the princesses, Twilight's friends and the Crusaders. Sunset comes back to Equestria after not hearing anything from Twilight for a long time, she wonders why her teacher and friend has not replied to her messages, did she do something wrong? Or was her friend in trouble? She goes to the portal to come back to Equestria, when halfway, she is surprised by a piercing pain in her body, she looks back only to find that the portal was closed, and thus, had ripped her apart in half... I think she would have never thought that the hints she had gotten were to be true, and regrets ever wanting to go back there... This place, is a place of DEATH

Imagine trying to explain to the cops why there's just dismembered legs infront of a statue in the school courtyard

"The portal opened to sunset shimmer, through it she could see her goal the crown of twilight sparkle. She just needed to take it slow and steady. Sunset crotched down on her hands and knees soon to be hooves once again. Slowly, carefully she put her hand into the portal. She felt the soft touch of magic transform her human hand back into a pony hoof. Then the next hand went through, then she stuck her body partly through. Her front hooves placed down silently on the floor beneath her. Like a snake emergin from its burrow she was halfway through." *CRACK* "At first she didn't realize what had occurred. Sunset just stood there frozen, her mouth moving wordlessly. She felt lighter somehow and wrong, very wrong. She gazed just behind her at the cracked glass and the growing red stain on it. Her entire lowered body was missing. Like a clean cut through her entire being. The faint white of bone was visible, as were some of her organs. Her bottom half was likely still in the human world" *PAIN* "In that moment all semblance of stealth went out the window. Sunset collapsed in a bleeding heap. Her first scream rused twilight and spike and the second one had them bolt upright in bed, through her own tears sunset could make out the vague image of the purple princess. Looking down at her. Fear, confusion, and disbelief were plain to see. It must not have been a pleasant surprise to twilight. Even with her knowledge twilight was not experienced with healing magic. So instead she used that power to ease sunsets mind before it slips away completely. Sunset dies quietly thanks to that. "

Choosing between your friends and your home is a decision so tough it feels as though you're splitting in two. In Sunset Shimmer's case, this would prove to be more literal than she expected. Though she desperately wanted to stay with her friends at Canterlot High this season, she knew everyone at school hated her - and they had the right to, she thought, because she had treated them so harshly. Sunset knew she needed a fresh start, and she hadn't known anypony very well back in Equestria, being the bookworm she was during her studies under Princess Celestia. Ultimately, Sunset Shimmer decided, it would be best to move back to Equestria with her friends and start over. Things would be better this way. As night approached, Sunset snuck onto school grounds towards the portal. She knew the portal would be closing soon, but if she showed up too early she would risk being spotted. As she carefully edged around the corner of the statue that housed the portal in its base, an all-too familiar voice eminated from right where she was headed. "Wo-oah!" "Careful, Snips, you're going to fall off of the ladder!" "I wouldn't be so wobbly if you were holding it!-" She heard a clatter, a thud, and a pained grunt. Sunset cringed as a can of paint rolled into her line of sight, knowing for sure Snips and Snails had just landed in a pile on top of each other whilst attempting to paint a mustache on the horse statue. "Get off me, Snips!" "S-someone was bound to have heard that! Run, Snails! Ruuuun!" There was a flurry of footsteps as the pair bolted without so much as looking back at their masterpiece. Sunset glanced anxiously at the full moon, knowing she didn't have much time left before the portal closed. She hesitated for a moment, debating going back - it was risky entering the portal this late... But she didn't have another choice. She was downright despised here; better to be unknown. She shook her head to clear it, and a blinding light began emanating from the portal. Panicked, Sunset Shimmer dived for the portal. *I can make it!* she thought, desperately flinging herself into the light of the portal's rapidly closing doorway- Too late. There was a sickening *sheck* sound as the sharpest pain Sunset had ever known coursed across her lower abdomen, almost as if she had been cut open by a giant piece of glass- which, as she glanced back involuntarily, she realized was more or less what had happened. She watched her human legs crumple to the ground helplessly for a very brief moment before the portal became more opaque, partially aided by the spattering of her blood across every surface behind her. Not even a moment later, Sunset Shimmer was unable to feel the shattered glass careening through and around her as the portal was destroyed, unable to properly close with her body in the way. The guards in the portal room immediately rushed to her aid, but there was nothing they could do. The upper half of Sunset Shimmer's corpse lay in a pool of gore, eyes permanently widened in horror and agony, and the unfortunate students who stumbled upon the other half the next morning were scared nearly to death as well. Of course, when Snips and Snails' fingerprints were discovered at the scene of the crime, they were promptly arrested. Hopefully the WonderColts Six aren't too numbed by the loss of their friend to clear the names of the innocent vandals... But that's a story for another day.

Absolute yes. The mirror’s details are so realistic, and the gore is just amazing. I also vote for Chrysalis’s death. Keep up the good work!

I have this cool idea for starlight glimmers death being execution by the people in the town she controlled in a universe where since the main 6 died they never went there and stopped her, a pony ends up finding her using magic and tells the others after freeing her and the other ponies cutie marks/there magic.They confront starlight and see that execution is her punishment.(just a idea or maybe an AU somebody could create or do something with bye ❤️)

I love this idea for Sunset, and for funsies, I think another possible death for her is that a pony can only use the portal so many times/changes if they stay away from their world for too long. Sunset is the only pony we know of who has permanently stayed in the other world, what if something about her biology just can’t sustain itself when away for so long? Or, maybe due to the events of the Equestria Girls, she’s more tied to their world than the pony world? What would happen if she tried to return to Equestria but, because of her new ties to the human world, something goes horribly wrong when the mirror goes to change her back? An eldritch abomination of both bodies scrambled, unable to survive now in either world, permanently trapped between.

I would like to see what lovely idea you have for Chrysalis' death. The art came out beautifully.

I was sorta expecting her death would be BURNING! Also I thought she wasn't a villan anymore.

Sunset was on her way to see twilight. She was very excited to see her friend the the portal was ready, or so she thought. It flickered, but she never noticed. This was a deadly mistake. She jumped in, but halfway, her lower back ripped and blood spurted everywhere. She looked back and saw her legs on the other side, still human. She let out a terrified yelp as she hit the ground, however, she fell unconscious because of the pain. A few hours later, at the hospital, she succumbed to her injury’s, and died. Turns out, Twilight was dealing with spike, who wouldn’t stop talking, causing her concentration to falter, which is why it flickered. She yelled at him just as Sunset was jumping through the portal. She forever blames herself.

I’m not good at writing stories so I’ll just tell it shortly. You know, portal closes each some time in Equestria, she went into it the last moment before it did. And before she fully teleported, half of her body got cut off by the portal. Accidental, unexpected & unfair death

Castellano: Muy buen video, me encanto, aca hay una version mia sobre como murio Sunset Shimmer. Habia un gran escandalo en la graduacion de la corona. Las mane 6 estaba afuera viendo como Sunset amenazaba con darle su corona o destruia el portal hacia Ponyville. Twilight no queria darle la corona y trata de convercerla de que cambie de opinion y trate de ser mejor persona. Sunset enfurecida por las intenciones de Twilight, le dio un martillazo al portal (Ya que si recuerdan en Equestria Girls,Sunset iba a romper el portal con un martillo, pero no lo hizo).El martillazo rompio una parte de el portal y a causa del golpe, el portal trato de expulsar a la persona que trato de quebrarlo de Canterlot para siempre, por lo que tomo a Sunset de la cintura y trato de meterla en el portal para regresar a Ponyville.Sunset no queria volver a Ponyville por lo que trato de hacer contrafuerza hacia el portal mientras se sostenia por los bordes del espejo _ No voy a volver a Ponyville,¡No aun!, ¡No volvere sin mi corona! _ Gritaba mientras se sostenia, el pueblo de Canterlot miraba como ocurrian los hechos pero no tenian el valor para intentar hacer algo, ni siquiera Twilight y sus amigas sentian que podian.Mientras Sunset peleaba contra el portal, de un momento a otro paso un suceso extraño, el portal exploto de una forma la cual, el cuerpo de Sunset se cortara a la mitad quedando, la parte superior (De la cintura para arriba) en Ponyville y la inferior (De la cadera para abajo) en Canterlot.El cuerpo de Sunset en forma de pony cayo en las escaleras del portal donde murio desangradose _ L-La co-corona _ _La corona es mia_ Esas fueron sus ultimas palabras. Twilight y Spike sorprendidos, pero calmados le explicaron lo que paso a Celestia quien estaba con cara de decepcion por que le habia pasado a su antigua alumna _Ella era una habitante de Ponyville, se merece un entierro adecuado_ Dijo mientras miraba a Twilight y a sus amigas. Por lo que arreglaron el dia del entierro, Twilight regreso a Canterlot a buscar la otra parte del cuerpo de Sunset y despues volvio a Ponyville. Varios dias despues de lo ocurrido, la Princesa Twilight seguia estudiando en su cuarto. pero en las noches mientras dormia, recordaba ese fatidico dia en el que murio Sunset Shimmer frente a sus ojos. Sunset did not want to return to Ponyville so he tried to counterforce towards the portal while holding on to the edges of the mirror _ I will not return to Ponyville, not yet! I will not return without my crown! _ She shouted while holding herself, the people of Canterlot watched as the events occurred but they did not have the courage to try to do something, not even Twilight and her friends felt they could. While Sunset fought against the portal, from one moment to another an event strange, the portal exploded in a way that, Sunset's body was cut in half, leaving the upper part (From the waist up) in Ponyville and the lower part (From the hip down) in Canterlot. Sunset in the form of a pony fell on the stairs of the portal where she died bleeding _T-The cro-crown _ _The crown is mine_ Those were her last words. Her legs were on Canterlot's side in a kneeling position as she dripped blood from part of her vertebrae. Twilight was shocked by what happened, she couldn't believe it, but even so, she had to go back to Ponyville, so she said goodbye to her friends, put Sunset's body aside and approached the portal, seeing that she was like Again he entered with Spike, on the other side (in Ponyville) she saw his pony friends who were scared by what they saw coming out of the portal and had notified Celestia about the matter. Twilight and Spike surprised, but calmly explained what happened to Celestia who was looking disappointed because it had happened to her former student _She was an inhabitant of Ponyville, she deserves a proper burial_ She said while looking at Twilight and her friends. From what they arranged on the day of the funeral, Twilight returned to Canterlot to find the other part of Sunset's body and then returned to Ponyville. Several days after what happened, Princess Twilight was still studying in her room. but at night while she slept, she remembered that fateful day Sunset Shimmer died in front of her eyes.
