Imagine if homes today were built as these wonderful old homes were built. These homes were built to survive decades upon decades and they have done just that. Wonderful find, thank you for taking us along! ❤
Yes! Hard to imagine how much work and time was needed to erect so great house in the middle of nowhere. Especially, when you have just simple tools only.
Good Morning Darina and Happy Easter. Another beautiful find!! Like the others have said, love exploring in the rain and finding old homesteads like this one. My mind races with the who lived here and why it's abandoned now. Great find!! 😊
Hi, Bruce! I saw some rusted machinery in bushes as well, but because of the rain, my cam went crazy and started recording time lapses. So, i couldn't show the old orchard sprayer and manure spreading 😬 They looked really vintage ((
Awesome video! Love old farmhouses 🙂The rain added an ambience to this explore, with the music, oooof, awesome! Window framing still intact, some shutters. Rare!
Thank you, William! I spent two evenings trying to unearth any info, but results were really meager. Public tax records - nothing. But that day, I found the foundation of one more house on this parcel, and analyzing its history, I came to conclusion that both houses should have same age. 1825, the year of original construction.
Great spot. Did you happen to see the head stone that is not where it belongs? It creeped me out a bit when I was there. Nice job getting through the lock. It's thorny as heck in there. Heading there to document the aqueduct in the future. Thanks for sharing
Hi, Kevin! Thanks! I forgot to find the headstone. The weather was not the best for long hike. Did you see the rusted orchard sprayer behind the barn? Cool stuff. As well, around Lock 25, you can see ruins of house where last lock tender and his family used to live.
@@walkingcam1I do not recall seeing the sprayer. I stood in the doorway of the house for a while and just marveled at the stone work. You did a great job covering the area. Keep up the good work.
@MegaSunny57 0 seconds ago Nice find. The rock work was gorgeous. I often wonder why people abandon these Beautiful places. Why not just sell it? Thank you for sharing I enjoy your videos.
