Love the roses!! I got annuals from Creekside about three weeks ago, and they are doing great. I’m so much cooler here in Washington state, so I wasn’t sure the impatiens and verbena could handle that. One night they even got light frost, but they didn’t seem to mind at all. I expected supertunia and lobelia to do well, and they have. I’ve planted almost all of them now, and we don’t even get to 60 in the daytime. Our days are so long now, that I wonder if the length of light is making up for the coolness. Everything you read online says they need heat, but my impatiens are starting to bloom, and my verbena is growing well, and is covered in bloom heads, all this while my tulips are still up.

Beautiful gardens Jenny. Side note, I placed an order in January for hydrangeas, pugster butterfly bush and hosta but have not received them. I have tried emailing but apparently inbox is full. I tried calling but voice mail box is full. Not sure what to do. I am in zone 10a. They are all perennials so maybe that is the delay? I received my annuals and some perennials, but not the ones mentioned above. Love your youtube channel.

I wanted to tell you that I received the PW annuals that I pre-ordered (7b, Northern Virginia). It was like Christmas in April! It was clear the plants were packaged with love. The plants were totally protected in shipping and each plant was watered well for its journey. The plants arrived in perfect condition. The Diamond Snow Euphoria in particular is absolutely stunning! Thank you so much! I will definitely be ordering from you again! I love how Creekside let me know when the plants were shipped (including updates). UPS also gave me updates on the three boxes of plants, down to a two-hour window when the plants would arrive.😂

Lucky you! Google "Creekside Gardens, Dallas, NC" and see my review photos of the plants I received in which most are either dead or struggling. Not only that, but I was told they were a mistake and they would be replaced......twice!. But my last inquiry about when has gone unanswered and my reviews of plants and me were blocked on their FB page and online website.

Peonies are my FAVORITE! I hope to add a few Itoh varieties to my collection (currently about ten regular peonies). My absolute favorite variety is 'Paula Faye.' She's a bright coral pink color single or anemone-style bloom. I have two. I'll be moving one other plant while the later blooming magenta variety is still small. A grass or tradescantia is growing among it. It hasn't performed well for several years and I found some tubers sneaking far away from the mother plant. Time to reign it in. I don't expect blooms after this wrong time to move it. My 'Moonstone' peony wasn't pink as yours is. I held onto that plant for ten years before I finally decided where to plant it. By then it only had one spindly stem. Last year was its most impressive comeback. It had 16 blooms! I am expecting 4 clematis from Brushwood Nursery and a PW 'Sweet Summer Love' clematis. I only recently learned how deep their roots can get. Erin from The Impatient Gardener struggled for hours to dig out hers growing in large 4' wooden containers. Now I'm afraid to plant the PW one next to my front steps as planned. Under the steps, there's an old well room. Those agressive roots could damage my steps. A couple replacement DA roses were delivered to me on Sunday. I wrapped them back up and have them in the cool garage. It's been raining heavily here in Minneapolis. I think Wednesday the weather may cooperate so I can get them planted. I plan to use your special auger (green) to dig deep enough holes. A few years ago, I hand dug the holes. Those bare-root roses had super long roots. These new ones had clipped roots. Baptisia, I'm well aware of their deep roots. Many years ago, I dug up a dwarf variety. I quit digging when I was knee-deep in the hole. I got it moved and it's still surviving, but not very robustly. I left some seed pods near the plant last summer hoping it would self-seed. 🤞🏼

Elizabeth was such a mediocre introduction by Austin...most I've seen in the flesh have looked messy with lots of lopsided blooms. So many nicer actual French bred roses that have that noisette bloom but with a more even habit. Always worth casting your net a bit further than David Austin especially now that their pricing is quite crazy even in the UK...over £30 in most places.

Jenny, I absolutely LOVED this video! I adore both peonies & Rose's and yours are glorious! I'm hoping to receive an "At Last" rose for Mother's Day. Since I'll be leaving my house & garden behind, I also NEED a replacement "Zepherine Drouhin" & my favorite "Sarah Bernhardt" peony! I've drooled over the yellow Itohs for years; but I'd rather choose it myself! I've come to understand that my son-in-law plans to control what gets planted here at the new house & am heartbroken over it! This move will not be as joyful as I had planned on & I'm so very disappointed! I'm still looking forward to receiving my first order from Creekside & love having something to look forward to. Since I'm 70 & have multiple physical disabilities, things have really changed. I'm blessed to have lived this long & appreciate every day God gives me! I know I have a lot to be thankful for. These things keep me going day by day. God bless you!

"Just go for it..." Have to agree Jenny. Life IS too short, so if a plant makes you happy, grow it. There are only so many months of growing season and they go by SO quickly. That Lemonade Baptisia next to the Little Spires made me chuckle. It's going to need a whole lot of growing to catch up to that glorious yellow wonder. Your Itoh Peonies are stunning. I have the old-fashioned pink Peonies that are probably 70 years old, and they bloom their heads off each Summer. Hundreds and hundreds of blooms every year but as soon as that first rain hits after blooming, they lose that blush of perfection very quickly. Your gardens are looking absolutely exquisite and just make me want to run out and get some Itohs and Roses right now. Thanks for sharing!
