I just purchased a Mintz book with this image. I’ve not colored on grayscale before - so I’ll be following your color along here and fingers crossed I get anything close to this beautiful finished picture.

The alcohol markers are great for doing grayscale coloring books as well! And there's these glitter brush pens that are great for embellishment, like coloring jewelry or anything that you want to shimmer/sparkle, they're called Wink of Stella glitter pens, and there's even a clear one for if you have a color underneath that you want to show through. I watched a video last night of a lady who was coloring a mermaid in a Jade Summer coloring book and she used them on the mermaid's jewelry and it turned out super cute!

Julie i know it was 9 months ago. I discovered you 3-4 ish months ago but is that an eraser ur using at the end after spreading the chalk pastel? I learn so much from ur real time tutorials and ur techniques. Thank you for the time you put into these to share with us.

Yes a normal white eraser and tombow pencil eraser for details to take away pastel
