Like the fenders, you should make the rock guard also removable if one desires to do so. Also maybe adjustable positions. Like on the camaro when loaded back over the wheels be able to move the rock guard back closer to the front of the vehicle in tow.
@@diamondctrailers I even have an easy design I think would work. Across the front you have a L tabs (that face forward) sticking down thru the deck of the trailer and at the end of the side wings a flat tab the bolts down to the deck. To remove you remove the bolt, tip the rock guard forward and lift the L tab up out of the deck. You could have these every two feet towards the rear of the trailer. Wouldn't need to go all the way to the tail of the trailer. Any way just an idea.
Great question! The answer is two fold. When we were designing the GTF the cost of the 6,000 axle vs the 5200 wasn’t significant so we decided to go with the slightly heavier duty axle setup for longevity. On the flip side there are a number of states that require a CDL to pull a trailer with a GVWR over 10,000 so we elected to keep it at 9890.
@@diamondctrailers is it possible to get this non de-rated and have a 12K trailer instead of 99XX? Also waiting to see a 102 wide version like @Clay Curry above
