They obviously already had contestant #1 & #2 (especially #2 because he seemed tall and slender just from his silhouette alone) in their mind as soon as they showed their silhouettes there. It was obvious from their glances and reactions. Plus, it was even more obvious that they chose looks over voice because everybody can see that the most talented one there was contestant #4.

Remember that this video is highly edited, with a lot of cuts, special effects, angles, and emphasis on certain stuff. In reality maybe they didn't mesh as well than portrayed.
