Gorguts has perfected the use of dissonance as an atmospheric tool. Incredible band. Saw them in Atlanta last night. One of the very best performances I've ever seen
was at that show, they fucking killed it. really happy to see Exist even though Defeated Sanity couldnt make it but i went to see them later on anyway so that was mad tight
I remember when Obscura was released and my friends and I were like "Wait! WTF?!". Way ahead of its time. A few of us saw them on that tour in San Francisco as well. Unforgettable.
@@krzysztofburek9038 There is this cool website called Google where if you type something you are looking for in, it will show you web pages that may have relevant information!
this album, along with Human Remains’s record has some of the weirdest guitar work in all of metal and I love it so much. Great cover man this song has to be weird as hell to learn.
@@tylerhawksmoor9601 Jon Lavaseur from Cryptopsy also used a fender stratocaster, to think that he recorded None So Vile, a monster of an album with a strat (of course, with emg in the bridge)
The way Luc does the tapping part is tap the notes with his pick while muting with his left hand, gives it a lot cleaner of a sound and whatnot. Whichever way you want to do it though, just letting you know
This songs gives me a headache because of how complex it is, I won't even attempt to learn it lol, did anyone ever cover Gorguts - the Art of Sombre Ecstasy?
+Bryan Chiang make your pick perpendicular to the strings over your G,B, high E right over your pickup and hit the strings with your pick as hard as you can. You want the strings to touch your pickup from the impact. Slightly slide the pick too but only in an 1-2cm area. Fool around with it. Gives me the noise Steeve makes. I've dubbed this technique Hurdle Hits or HH in memory of my favorite guitar player on this album. He also does them WAAAY more than Luc which leads me to believe it's his thing, which is why I names it after him.
Agreed. Although I am a fan of the new material and the addition of Kevin and Colin they have show that exploring territory in the traditional vein is more important to them/him now. With the few Negativa songs the public got to hear it makes me wonder what the amazing compositional team of Lemay and Hurdle could have accomplished with an additional decade or so of experience under their belts. Guess we'll never know.
