This is my favourite Gorillaz song- Everytime someone interacts on this comment i get to revisit this beauty Edit: I listened to this song 332 times because of this comment. I have no regrets
N dela Paz it's actually quite dark, representative of how our plastic world looks good from the outside but its in fact just polluted and dying, it has a time stamp and it's too far gone to save

When you’re too creative and a legit musical genius and even being the front man of a legendary band who created Brit pop in the 90s was hindering on your creativity. So you had to create a fictional band of weirdos so it made better sense to us simple humans. Damon is epic! Definitely deserves more praise!
Yes he's incredibly talented. Surrounding himself with creative ppl who helped him reach his status. He listened to alot of a punk band called Wire. They had an awesome album titled Pink Flag. He said it helped his song writing skillz ✍ 🎶 .
Bro, the year was 2011. I was in 8th grade when I discovered Gorillaz, I stumbled upon them randomly. I had just started using the internet and social media, so I could finally look up new, awesome music, different from what my sibling was listening to and the radios. I still remember this eery feeling I felt while listening to every single one of their albums. Honestly Gorillaz was this super new, bizzare thing that fascinated me while puberty was slowly starting eating up my insides. The story about the characters and the sequence between their music videos was the most exciting thing in my daily life back then. Their unique sound was THE SHIT for me, it got me through stuff. Honestly I felt like I had discovered a hidden treasure, a secret, that only I could enjoy. I was feeling pretty special. Good times. I am so glad I grew up with Gorillaz. Plastic Beach album had always a special place in my heart. Bro wtf my feelings are pouring out staaaaap
It’s so cool to know that I’m listening to the same music millions of other people have heard but there’s different associations with their songs and albums for other people-I’m so glad for you that Gorillaz came to you in a time in your life that was full of change and that Plastic Beach makes you fond :-)!! I remember growing up in the 2000s and heard their music occasionally in my house and it does make me nostalgic to hear songs from Demon Days and Plastic Beach

Mona The Devil Worshipper It'd be interesting if plastic beach was their band name. Band Name - Album Name - Song Name. Plastic Beach - Plastic Beach - Plastic Beach
Its awesome knowing that Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of The Clash play Guitar and Bass on this song and in others in the album, never thought id see a day where the people who created London Calling would be in a song like this. Gorrilaz r awesome for letting them be a part of it!
Dude no fucking way. I love the clash and I had no idea that this was their collab song. Makes me wish they did a collab with j dilla or nujabes or at least another collab with MF doom before he died
Words literally CANNOT describe how much i wish i was into gorillaz earlier, i mean they were making music before i was born, really hope i can make a tour at some point, but man would it have been so cool to be at one of their earlier tours, especially a hologram tour, but oh well life goes on, wish i hadnt waited so long to look deeper into their music fr
Last year i lost my dad and looking through tiktok memes i saw a video with this song. Not knowing who it was i checked the comments for a source and someone said gorillaz - plastic beach - plastic beach. My life changed since then. Got me through such hard times. Thanks for everything 🙂
This is easily one of Gorillaz top 10 pieces. I cannot believe how underappreciated this track is compared to everything else they have. Incredible composition
I first heard this song in a bagel shop while touring a college campus. I thought it sounded cool so I opened Shazam and found the song and listened to it later. Anyway, that was in February. In the months since my life’s been complicated and miserable, and in October my girlfriend whom I loved very much broke up with me, and this is one of the songs I listen to whenever it gets to be too much. It reminds me of simpler times, you know, just sitting in a bagel shop. It’s got that kind of “the world is collapsing but that’s OK” kind of vibe
A lot of plastic beach reflects Murdoc's generally bad mental state during the time but THIS? THIS. THIS VIBE. It literally can't get any clearer. I hear the fear and insanity and depression in the song. So many songs on plastic beach are dripping with negative emotion and this song is TOTALLY one of them. Brilliant album, both technically and lore-wise.
I've known about Gorillaz for years, and frequently listened to the well knowns like Feel Good inc., but i only recently actually looked for their songs.
@@emperormegaman3856 same here, I first heard Gorillaz at age 8-9, and I already liked some songs. But I've listening to their discography only since April this year

my dad first introduced me to gorillaz when i was little, he used to play gorillaz songs in the car. i didn't get into gorillaz until just this year. i love their music so much now. a lot of the songs feel very nostalgic and it makes me think back to the days where i didn't have a worry in my life and then flash back to now.
Every so often I think the same Damon rights mostly uplifting music with some message to it these days but will never compare to the mood and vibe of post 9/11 and Iraq war era Demon Days album as it delves into the mayhem and fear of the world at that point but finishes up the album by telling you to get yourself up its a brand new day and turn yourself around to the Sun
OMG this song needs to be the title track, honestly it deserves to be longer and I can’t even describe the intro it’s like heavenly. I just started to listen to Gorillaz a few weeks ago and it feels like I died but became alive again. My dad introduced me to them and when I found this track I almost fell asleep, again my most favorite part of the song is the intro . I can listen to the intro for hours
I cant be the only one who 0:41 gets super nostalgic and thinks about those cute pastel prb chinese old pixel styled flash home decorating games/dress up games it sounds like something exactly these games would have! They either have that or no music at all i miss these early days on the internet playing these games all night without worrying about anything
coolmathgames anyone? May not be any dress up games but I remember we could get away with playing it because of the “math” part but it was only random internet games!

This song. This is the song i listened when I was in a field trip with the class. We were there for 5 days and I listened to this while driving there and back. The memory of the bus drive is not forgotten. Pre-Covid will be missed.
I've got lovely memories of visiting Lake Buchanan in Central Texas with my family back in 2010 to go with this song. Whenever I hear it I'm thinking of endless fields of bluebonnets and a sparkling inland sea.
I love going through the albums instead of only listening to the most popular songs, because they have so many hidden gems that are way too underrated and harder to find. Gorillaz just has such a huge amount of great songs, and almost all of them have a very unique feeling that I get from no other song or band. Man I love this band
