As someone that's been listening to Gorillaz since they started, this is really fun watching new people listening and watching them for the first time. I can understand how confusing they kinda are, especially without any kind of context. There's a lot of lore (both fictional and real) that's packed into these music videos, so seeing someone show a new perspective to it, is really very fun :D
Lol it's especially weird for me as I didn't like blur and never gave them the time of day, gorillaz tho.... I must say they are a groove 😁👌 Glad you enjoy my videos 🙂
i came across this a month ago when i was watching other feel good inc reactions and i had no idea the frontman of blur was the same dude from gorillaz!! so i started looking up stuff about blur/gorillaz after you mentioned it and now im OBSESSED with blur lmaooo i just find it funny that this video from an oasis fan who doesn’t rlly like damon led to someone becoming a big fan of blur (i do like oasis though!)
some songs from blur’s last album before they broke up (in 2003) sound like they could be gorillaz songs. graham left the band in the middle of recording that album so a lot of the heart of blur’s songs/sound was lost without his participation.
I'm guessing plenty of people have said, they kinda don't have a genre like twenty one pilots. Damon is pretty much the only constant music wise, plenty of collaborations and often with rappers. When they do tour, they have a screen with the animated characters (who have a fully detailed back story,) and often use the same touring musicians. For the Plastic Beach tour that included Mick Jones and Paul Simonon from The Clash. The animation is by Jamie Hewlett who created the Tank Girl comic. Funnily they did this song on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and he did the rap part quite well.
A really cool instrumental by Damon Albarn is from the movie Ravenous. If you like somewhat humorous horror, it's an interesting watch. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wgxMPlemyLk.html&ab_channel=Mingle127Mingle127
Damon makes all the music & sings. jamie draws them. The rappers are collaborators on this song. If you liked this mix you should try Clint Eastwood next. What's funny is I can't stand Oasis because I find them so whiney. Haha!
Funny enough, Gorillaz came about as a comment on the shallowness that music is often presented with in media. Because it's a virtual/animated band, it also provided a way for Damon to slip out from behind the image and preconceived notions that went with Blur, and do something else without his own face having to be in the forefront. That's not to say that he totally ditches his familiar sound. It'll come around sometimes, but there's certainly a lot of exploration in Gorillaz. I can't claim to be a really huge fan of Blur, but I do like them to some degree. However, I can understand how someone could find them irritating. :D
REACT TO GORILLAZ - 'DARE' NEXT - brilliant video.....with a V.I.P. - Legend! 😜 Gorillaz are a trip 🦍 their whole concept - even their 1st concerts were animated projections! You should check out 'Stylo' as well....with another celeb in the video!
@@infin8reactions I know that. I was just hoping that wasn't your answer. its music. its not sport. you can like both. victim of tabloid thinking there fella.deary me.
